I’ve just bought this printer and been through the set up, however there is a message on the printer ‘Set Ink Cartridge’

There’s nothing about this happening in the manual, it just states to press ‘OK’ and then the stop/reset button after confirming language (which I did) and I have went into the appropriate settings and confirmed the cartridge settings but it is still there. I have tried it with one and now both cartridges (the black & colour ones which came with the printer so they are the correct ones) and they both clicked in so are loaded correctly.

The website is about as much help as the manual, so any ideas?

On the epson printers you have to pull a label off the inks before you use them. don’t know if your one is the same.

No, it’s not that. There isn’t any tape on them – don’t think so anyway. There is orange tape attached to them that you are instructed to remove initially. Then there’s that strip of tape that runs from the bottom of the cartridge round the back. Does it come off as well?

Actually, to be clearer – it was the protective tape I removed.

Fixed it – and it’s ridiculous. One of the cartridges, that came with the printer, wasn’t compatible with the printer.

Why it was in there in the first place (got it from Argos, thankfully I bought another ink cartridge when I was there) god alone knows.
