I think you’re looking at the bottom four paragraph’s of this article Mary.

An interesting article BM. The bit you refer to I think is:

An interview with Mr and Mrs McCann was released yesterday in which they spoke about being under the “magnifying glass of suspicion”, claiming: ‘If we can get though this we can get though anything’.

In it they admit their guilt at leaving their “perfect child” alone. But they deny all claims of being involved in Madeleine’s disappearance.

“Of course we feel guilty at being at the restaurant when she disappeared,” said Kate. But she added: “That will always be so, but the person who broke in and took Madeleine is the most guilty.”

I think that the quote “If we can get though this we can get though anything” should have read “If we can get away with this we can get away with anything.”

I also note that whilst they make a half-hearted attempt to accept their personal responsibility (“… of course we feel guilty…”) they immediatly seek to shift the blame onto somebody else (“…the person who broke in and took Maddie is the most guilty”).

Leaving aside my own belief that they are a pair of callous cold-hearted manipulators …. wothout doubt THEY are the most guilty – it simply wouldn’t have happened at all if they had discharged their parental responsibilities and looked after their children properly…..

…. assuming that you buy into their half-baked and unbelievable story in the first place.

As opposed to the half-baked and unbelivable tosh that’s be in the Papers the past few weeks.
Im sure your Womans intuition still tells you there’s something there PB, but the case against the McCanns is collapsing faster than a row of Domino’s.

Now the Mob will change tactics and play the Negligence Card…

I think your head wasnt so far up your own rusty bullet hole you’d have realised that the “negligence card” has been pretty much weilded right from the word go actually as the issue of gross negligence isnt one that is in need of being theorised as its completely indisputeable even by the most bum licky kate mcann worshippers

As for a mob, I take it youre referring to a group of people who individually think theyre guilty yeah? A mob in the aame way theres a “mob” of Mcann fans” wanting to absolve the floor they walk on and pucker up to their mars bar dispenser just because they have lost a child? Or do they ALSO have their own opinions that just coincide with other bum lickey worshippers of child abusing parents (yep, neglect is also classed as abuse btw)

Which word? Bum or lickey?

Yeah I know I can be a Tw At, but the upside to being one is that not only does it feel good when I lick myself, but I taste great too

we kn rattle on forever about the guilt or otherwise of the parents here, but lets just lok at a couple of the things the mcanns have said [allegedly]
we had a lapse of judgement.
    we were naive.
we would never harm any of our children.
we were checking every half hour.

    where do they ever say
we are guilty of causing the death / abduction of our daughter
we are sorry we ever abandoned our children because they were a handful that day.
we have never knowingly put our children at risk.

    why.
BECAUSE THE MCANNS ARE TRAINED DOCTORS AND ARE QUITE ADEPT AT SHIFTING THE BLAME POINTING THE FINGER AT OTHERS AND DENYING ANY WRONGDOING AT ALL.
I hope their little one is alive and well somewhere but i doubt it very much, do any of you think that this farsical circus is anything to do with madelaine now ? its all about damage limitation for mr and mrs middle england plain and simple in my eyes.

This is perhaps the nub of the issue with the McCanns. You think that they are experiencing deep remorse (the ”place that none of us can imagine”) whereas a number of us think that they show little if any sign of remorse for their actions.

All we hear is them trying to play down their negligence by using trite phrases – we had a lapse of judgement – we were naive – maybe we’re guilty but not as guilty as the (alleged) abductor – and so on and so forth.

The one thing that made me question the entire charade right from the start was the totally detached and emotionless manner of the holy Mother McCann. Had she displayed ANY sign of emotion at all – much less distress – it would never have occurred to me that she might have been involved in the way that it is now said she is…. and by implication Father McCann with her.
