I was out with friends on friday night and inevitably the subject of maddie’s dissapearance came up. Now i dint realise that the Mccaans were in a holiday party of 9 adults part of the story cut and pasted below:
A woman friend of the McCanns – one of their holiday party of nine adults and eight children – said: “We went for dinner at 8.45pm in a restaurant near the apartments as we’ve done every night.
“A parent from each family went back to check on the children every half hour.“Someone checked at 9.15. But when Kate went later Madeleine had gone.
right now the time differences still makes no sense to me , there were some of the 9 adults who had all left their children without using the baby sitting service , 9 adults to check on the various children? so why didnt the parents go with each other? why did Kate Mcann go on her own to check the children? why not double up etc.
Now another thing that puzzles me is PB very early on showed a picture of the complex and although they were only supposed to be 120 yards away it appeared in that picture that you couldnt have direct access to where the Mccaans were staying that easy, there was a walk round the complex first?
No i havent made a judgement as i dont think it has been proved but as a bystander looking in on this case things just dont add up? I wonder how old the other children were that had been left……

I only heard in the last few days that this was the same every night they were there. They were leaving the children alone each night.
So to me that could possibly back up the theory about them being “watched” by a paedo/kidnapper.
Im starting to feel we will never ever get to the truth of this matter which is sad for all the people involved, most of all Maddie.
Im unsure about all the time differences, seems to depend on what you read as to what time is unaccounted for.
The map of the complex clearly shows the location of the Tapas bar, where they were all socialising, as well as the location of the apartment that the McCanns had rented.
Although it was a distance of around 120 yards or so ‘as the crow flies’ in order to get from one to the other, you did indeed have to walk round the outside of the complex and enter the McCanns apartment block from the street – not from the complex.
It has been suggested that they could have heard if the children were crying etc etc – Howeve,r they were inside a bar, drinking with a group of friends and having a meal. The general noise level (as you might expect in a busy bar with people chatting etc) would have made it utterly impossible to have heard a child over this noise and given the distance to the apartment.
The timings of people’s movements that evening have always been a bit of a mystery as no authoritative timeline has been released by the police. The McCanns have steadfastly refused to publicly confirm (or deny) the times of their movements claiming Portuguese secrecy laws prevent them from doing so.
However, the generally held view from the Media is that the McCanns arrived at the Tapas bar at or shortly after 8.30pm. Again the exact times that the various children were checked on and by whom is likewise shrouded in mystery. However, the Media have consistently published that the McCann’s children were visited by one of them at or around 9.05pm and Maddie was discovered to be missing at or around 10.00pm.
The final sequence of timed events AFTER 10.00pm is also a bit of a mystery. It is said that Mother McCann didn’t return to the Tapas bar (shouting about Maddie) until around 10.15pm – ALLEGEDLY she called the Sun newspaper shortly afterwards (Christ knows why) – and the Portuguese police have said that they recorded the first call from the McCanns to their emergency number at 11.03pm.
Basically, you pays yer money and you takes yer choice.
Of course we can clear it up for u Cath…. Batty and PB were both there holidaying at the same time as the McCanns so can tell you exactly what time they were having dinner and just how easily or not it was to access the appartment from the restaurant. I’m sure they will be along soon to give you any “factual” information you like. Then again…. you could always just buy a copy of the Sun instead.
Wow….. I knew he was quick Cath but he even managed to explain the “facts” before I got my post in.. :shock: and as predicted…. the detail is absolutely amazing. Nice tan by the way PB… :D

unfortunately sharon i think you are right, we are never gonna get the truth of what happened, evryone has their theory.

Or better still Cath …you could listen to Fastcars … who by the way, believes that the McCanns are wonderful parents who are ok to leave their children alone so they can eat, drink and be merry in a foreign country…. (forgetting that this complex provides a baby sitting service where all the children could have been watched properly) How awful that the McCanns are being villified … personally if I ever met the skanks myself, I’d lynch them…. Whether or not they’re guilty of murdering Maddie themselves …they are guilty of, at the very least, handing her over to the people who did . I hope they suffer eternally… Plus I still want to know why Social Services aren’t intervening in the care of the surviving twins :?: :?: :? :? :twisted: :twisted:
well said sweets. =D> kinda pot kettle black dontcha think fastcars….you assume others defend MADDIES rights………but your staunch in your defence of the mcannsto the point where it would seems you know more about them than anyone else. if nothing else they should be charged with neglect. :evil:

No one on here who’s defended the McCanns as far as I know have said it was fine for them to leave their children alone.
I’ve said they made a mistake. They admit they made a mistake. They are most certainly not the first people who have done this. Lots of people will breath a sigh of relief that this didnt happen to them. Time cant be turned back though.Yes Im sure if you ever met the skanks (maybe it’s you that’s the skank
