I find it amusing that these vehicle manufacturers continue to produce these high speed engines knowing full well that to drive these machines at there peak is illegal…. i am not aware of any government agency that has even attempted to stem this….. :?
I have no doubt that having a high speed car saved my life when I had to accelerate quickly to get out of the way of a truck driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel.
Having a high speed car doesn’t mean you have to use it to its full capacity…after all, humans don’t use their brains to their full capacity…
26 January, 2010 at 2:24 pm #429630The same as CO2 emission banding for road tax. The government will not stop manufacturing of high emission cars so why should people stop buying them? It really pees me off I pay over £400 road tax but are made to feel guilty driving my car. But I won’t feel guilty I frikking pay enough to drive it. If CO2 emiisions were such a huge problem the goverment WOULD stop production of such engines. It’s all about making money.

Supposition….? Must have been one tyred driver
26 January, 2010 at 2:53 pm #429632Groan…and no supposition, if I hadn’t been able to accelerate out of the way he would have hit me at around 60mph, and I saw him wake up with a start as I blasted my horn at him.
It’s not the speed of the engine that makes a car exceed speed limits, it’s the driver.
26 January, 2010 at 3:06 pm #429633Of course there will be times when speed and power will benefit, in terms of this thread…i am of the opinion that emmisions can be lowered with the cessation in manufacture of high speed machines, however frightful your near life threatening collision, it should not be a reason to continue with production of these machines, perhaps a seperate lane with barriers for large haulage vehicles is the answer in your case.

Maybe you should stand in the next general election and stem it yourself.
