It entirely depends on what it is that you want. A basic connection to the internet at so-called Broadband speed in the UK will cost you around £16-17 per month for around 2.0MB – but this is all that you get. Also these cheapy offers are usually hedged around with ‘hidden’ conditions like limited connectivity at peak times or limits on the amount that you can download per month etc etc.

The more expensive offerings (£20 – 28 per month) will often give you much faster speeds (up to 8.0MB depending on your distance from the exchange) as well as multiple free e-mail accounts and anti virus, firewall, pop up blockers, child protection, much larger download allowances – say up to 40GB or unlimited etc etc.

Basically you pays yer money and you takes yer choice.

Well we do use them for bussness and they are very good at putting boardband in portocabins in muddy fields or run down parts of towns.

We do test our lines once a week.

From what I do know, BT have been working on all there exchange for the last 2 years and up gradeing them to 128mb/256mb lines. (For tv on demard and all that other new cr ap).

I think most people will have 24mb boardband in the next 3 years.
