    As far as I remember, the term ‘Brit’ was popularised as a derogatory term by republican activists in Northern Ireland. As such, is it not an offensive term?

    Would that be the same “Brit” as in Brit Awards; or would it be a short form of “Britney” as in Brit Houston; or is it in fact a contraction of “British expatriates” as in Brit expats.
