🥴Congratulations to the new leader of the Lib Dems Jo Swinson. A “progressive” liberal. Likes to portray herself as to the ‘left’ of British politics and moderate (like some on the boards).
Then we get to her voting record… Oh dear.
Voted with the tories 849 times while in coalition.
Voted against welfare rises for the disabled and sick.
Voted for the bedroom tax.
Supports fracking.
Supported cuts to legal aid.
Supported cuts to local government.
Refused to support freezing rail fares.
To name a few and not forgetting the rise in university tuition fees.
You would think she would be an ideal candidate a role in Johnstons cabinet wouldn’t you (or him in hers), her views are as “hard right” as his are.

🥴It’s impossible to dislike a rareeshowman, a music hall turn who can never be taken really seriously because he can turn around and do the opposite with panache and a knowing grin.
There was a similar US politician in the 1930s called Huey long. Famous for going into the gents in a nightclub and being so impatient he peed between the legs of the man on the urinal. There is a pic, I believe, of him emerging from the nightclub with a black eye.
Long was elected a Governor of his state on the promise to reduce taxes. The first thing he did was to raise taxes. When his adviser asked what they would say to the people, he responded,”Simple. Tell ’em I lied”.
But, like long, Johnson was and will be hated because of the effects on ordinary people of what he does. The knowing grin will make him all the more hated.
One thing is for sure. If he means what he says, and he’ll be destroyed if he doesn’t, then this will all come to a spectacular head in a couple of months time. Determination or blind optimism? I doubt very much that t will end on halloween
How odd, after month of spamming negative images of Trump and emotive pictures of drowned children there is no mention at all today from from the poundshop version of Ian Hislop about the deaths of 150 refugess and migrants, men women and children, who lost their lives in the Mediterranean sea yesterday attempting the dangerous crossing to fortress Europe to better their lives and those of their families. estimates say over 800 men women and children have so far lost their lives this year and that figure is no doubt considerably higher.
The EU part funded Libyan coastguard and local fishermen fortunately managed to rescue 145 but unfortunately they will now be kept in EU part funded (and Italy) “concentration camps” in Libya.
So you see, these people have no morals at all, they will use to deaths of innocent children or murdered MPs to score cheap political points and spam silly pictures and memes because their argument lacks substance and is exposed the moment it is subject to any serious scrutiny.

The fate of the immigrants is genuinely tragic, but what you write about it is just plain rubbish.
If Boris wins the next election – which could come sooner than is thought – or if he gets no-deal through the Commons, or if a referendum is forced on him and n0-deal wins, then we Remoaners will not have a legal leg to stand on. I can see a lot of moaning from a lot of people afterwards as the effect hits and hits hard, but as far as leaving the EU is concerned the issue will be settled in favour of Brexit for a good number of years.
I wonder how you will react if none of the above conditions happen?
