Let me get this straight
A radio presenter has boasted on his radio show that he has sh/agged someone, via a series of phone messages to this said recipient’s grandfather.
It appears he did actually sleep with the aforementioned – a member of a band called the Satanic Sluts.
The messgaes, whilst not particularly gratifying, were not in any way obscene in terms of language (f*ck, c*nt etc) nor were they particularly explicit. They simply stated Russell Brand had slept with Andrew Sachs grand daughter (which he had!!!!!!) and then followed with a couple of comments regarding “bending over the sofa” or some such like. Hardly earth shattering
So a radio show presenter tells the truth, perhaps lacking in some sensitivity and delicacy granted, and the whole world is going to end.
The vast majority of complaints are from people who havent heard ANY of the actual material which is in question but have been led by a tabloid media.
FFS, bring back Mary Whitehouse.
I am not a Russell Brand fan- i find his comedy pretentious and false BUT people, get a feckin life please.
Her band name makes not one jot of difference unless you think it would have been different if they’d been called Angelic Angels. Shagging someone doesn’t give you bragging rights
It was bad taste, and stupid, and not very funny, but it is mild compared to some of the things that have been aired on the BBC.
I think if it had been funnier, it might have caused a bit of a stir but they would have got away with it, but they both mistook crude vulgarity for humour.
Others have got away with far worse, if it is done in a way that makes people splutter with laughter.

Her incredible indignation at the incident which could have affected her relationship with her grandfather “for life” (from her press statement) does not go so far as to think her grandfather may be affected by his grandaughter being in a band called the Satanic Sluts. Forgive me but the term “satanic” is normally associated with the devil, evil etc and the term “sluts” normally applies to sexually promiscuous.

Actually sh/agging someone gives you lots of rights- the right to the fact you’ve shared bodily fluids and the right to the fact that it happened. The fact he bragged about it may be indelicate or insensitive but it is also a truth not a lie.
It was the way he did it that was crass. And no gentleman would behave as he has done, regardless of the reputation of the woman in question. But regardless of all that, if it had been remotel funny, he might he been forgiven. After all, he could have been spinning a yarn.

No, it wasnt greatly funny..to me- but thats what comedy is about- for every Dad’s Army fan, there will be a Chubby Brown fan (or like me, you like both!)- horses for courses.
The main thrust of the media has been that Brand (and Ross) left messages on Andrew Sachs phone which were deeply hurtful to him- my point is, if Andrew Sachs has followed his grandaughters career so far I dont think Russell Brand saying he’s sha/gged her is the worst thing he has seen or heard! Particularly when he has shagged her!!

The “S” on Satanic Sluts appears very similar to the SS insignia of the German Army in World War II.
Also the Satanic Sluts website has a section called “Blood and Dishonour” (with the “Dis” sideways)- “Blood and Honour” is the global neo nazi movement.

I wouldnt suggest for a second they are nazi’s or anything like that but the website is in very very poor taste- and for Andrew Sachs grandaughter to show indignation at how her grandfather might react to being told she has sh/agged Russell Brand without appearing to be aware how he may feel about her being in the Satanic Sluts is, to my mind, somewhat hypocritical

I just looked at the Satanic Sluts web site. There are tabs to click on to join the “SS”.
I know this is a reference to the “satanic sluts” but some people might be offended by the fact that you can join the “SS” and be a member of the “SS” they are only using that term to shock in the same way that Russel uses his so called humour.That is all I’m saying
Firstly I meant to say Blood and Honour is a global neo nazi music promotion movement.
Secondly, when considering her grandfather fled nazi genocide, she should be more concerned about how he feels about the fact she’s in Satanic Sluts rather than worried about him finding out she’s sha/gged a comedian.
I don’t like Russell Brands style of comedy but the vitriol and vilification launched at him over this, without thought or consideration, is astounding.
Comedy is comedy- its horses for courses and her version of comedy (which I assume the SS are) is no different to Russell Brands
Slayer what the hell does it matter what she has done or what her band is called? She can be outraged by what Russell Brand said on an answerphone to her grandfather if she pleases. In my opinion she doesn’t need to justify her indignation.
What I am trying to say is, that if the situation was at all comical or humerous he would probably have got away with it. She would eventually have laughed it off, and it would all have been forgotten. But it wasn’t and she didn’t but it will anyway.
