Boyd is first and foremost a goal scorer..I would rather have a lazy player who scores goals, than one who runs up and down the pitch scoring bugger-all.
Burley should have played him..certainly for the second half..instead he had him sitting on the bench whilst not one man on the pitch could put a ball in the net.
Even with ten minutes to go..Boyd could have been a potential scorer. Big mistake by Burley..even though the man is sex on legs.He isnt first and foremost a goal scorer. He is ONLY a goalscorer.
Yeah..heavens forfend we try any of that goal-scoring nonsense eh?

18 October, 2008 at 9:26 pm #381270From his comments today, it looks like Walter Smith isn’t going to speak up to defend Boyd and that says more about the player than anything Burley will ever say.
18 October, 2008 at 9:56 pm #381271Rangers Goalie should follow his Managers lead and keep his gob shut as well.
18 October, 2008 at 10:12 pm #381272Something’s not right in the Scotland set up and I think it’s about respect. Read Des McKeown in the Sun today and I agree fully with what he said, how many players walked out on or challenged Smith or Big Eck?
There’s just something about Burley that doesn’t inspire me as a fan and I reckon the players may feel the same. Goes back to the point I made about his press conference, stating that it wasn’t about Kris Boyd or George Burley when it was pretty obvious what it was about. Then bringing Walter Smith’s name into it even though there was actually no need just to highlight his point. If it’s nothing to do with Boyd then it’s even less to do with him. I thought that he said the right things but in completely the wrong way.
McGregor’s outburst makes it pretty clear that for some of the players, their loyalties lie elsewhere.
19 October, 2008 at 12:57 am #381273it has deffo got nothing to do with scotland…burley will do fine
as for boyd…he has personal problems…(albeit rumours) but some very strong rumours
the press are going to have a field day with him…im actually surprised he is putting himself in the spot light
the papers store up all the shyte they have on people…and boyd is going to have a very big fall
as for “the goalie”…macgregor…hes another trumpet thats going in the wrong direction
he doesnt keep good company  ..and i dont mean the girls
its just a case of “watch this space”…it will allll come out
19 October, 2008 at 6:45 pm #381274Has this got anyone else thinking of the Berti Vogts era? Fans divided, tactical criticism, player unrest, sounds familiar.
