So despite his goals winning Rangers the CIS Cup and his strike saving us from an exit in the Scottish Cup, he finds himself on the bench again. Fair enough, his workrate is pretty poor but he has a knack of being in the right place at the right time.

I’d have started him with Darcheville – McCulloch was poor last week – and let him do all the running. If not Darcheville then Naismith or even Gow (once he figures out who he has to sleep with to even be named as a sub)

They may end up losing him at this rate.

    He’s a luxury John.

He’ll maybe start 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 games next season.

Im sure Rangers would like to keep him for games when they’re 1-0 down with 20 mins to go, but I dont think Boyd will be content with that.

Has there ever been a player to divide opinion more than Boyd? Maybe Miller when he was at Celtic, his workrate was praised but his scoring rate was criticized. Boyd’s on 20+ goals this season (again) but it’s not enough.

He can’t play up front on his own, and if he does then he needs players like Ferguson to be at their very best to create chances for him. I reckon you’re right BM, as much as Boyd loves the club I don’t think he’ll be content at being a bit part player considering how much he can contribute. But until he improves his workrate, I think any manager at any club he’d be likely to move to would probably use him as he’s being used now.
