Dont ya’ll wish u had an exciting league like the SPL? They may as well have put Chelsea’s ribbon’s on the Premiership at the start of August, wherea’s in the SPL were gonna have a few teams in the mix when it comes down to the wire. :)
18 October, 2005 at 8:47 am #156176yeah makes a change does’nt it? must admit, with hearts in the mix, i have taken more of an intrest of the scotish league
but don’t call it chelsea’s title yet, people was saying the same thing about ar senal when they went on that un beaten won, they looked invincible
then a young guy called wayne rooney introuduced himself to the football world, beat ar sneal on his own for everton, and they went off the rails
only takes a couple of games to turn round
18 October, 2005 at 9:16 am #156177Arsenal are out of it already mate. Man Utd are prone to slips ups as was proved at home to Blackburn the other week.
For a team to really challenge Chelsea they’d really have to go through the season unbeaten.18 October, 2005 at 11:11 am #156178well wigan are looking good :)
18 October, 2005 at 3:05 pm #156179.. am still waiting for the all time great Soccer Headline again after Inverness Caledonian Thistle Beat Celtic a few years ago…

MARCO NEGRI19 October, 2005 at 8:30 am #156181Having seen Hearts play on Saturday at Parkhead, and also seen them beating Rangers at Tynecastle Id say for sure they’re gonna b there at the end, they aint gonna slip away. They’re looking to bring players in to bolster they’re squad in the transefer window and its great to have a challenge from them.
Dont forget Hibs as well. They defo aint strong enough to go the distance but they’re only 4 points off Celtic and 7 off Hearts just now. Hopefully these clubs and Aberdeen and Dundee Utd will take up the challenge in the next few years. A bit of competition is a great thing.Id also tip Chelsea to go through the season unbeaten. No one will come near them in The Premiership for the next 10 years, or until the Russian gets bored.
19 October, 2005 at 9:18 am #156182I don’t think Chelsea will go through unbeaten. Too much is being read into this start, however impressive it is, I think.
I remember Ron Atkinson’s Man Utd winning their first ten games back in the Captain Marvel Robson days. They didn’t even win the title.
19 October, 2005 at 9:31 am #156183Perhaps but if this current Chelsea side ever get an injury or an injury crisis they’ll just go out and spend another 20 million quid. No club in the history of the English game has had the financial cloat that Chelsea have. Atkinsons Man U were rich, but nothing compared to the current Chelsea.
Look at what’s happened to Arsenal when a few injuries have come they’re way. They’ve struggled badly. Chelsea defo wouldent struggle the same way if they had a similar injury crisis.19 October, 2005 at 9:37 am #156184Man U and Arsenal away from home will the only potential slip ups from them and I just cant see them dropping full points from those games. (Now watch Everton beat them at the weekend.)
