if preservation of life was more important than loss of life 1 we wouldn’t have helped create a nuclear bomb
why? the nuclear deterrent has arguably preserved life on earth for 70 years. Your country the UK hasn’t gone to a major war for 80 years because it has the nuclear weapons, same for our neighbours and brothers in France.
2 we wouldn’t sell weapons to other countries
why? weapons preserve life.
3 we wouldn’t have biological weapons
we? UK ? do we have them? or moreso, when did we last use them? again. All weapons can preserve life, even (especially) the ugly and brutal weapons.
4 we wouldn’t fight other countries wars in the interest of the rich
We would, depending on who it was. We could be obliged to as a NATO member. I’m sure we wouldn’t stand by and watch one of our smaller historic neighbours getting destroyed. Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Belgium, Holland etc
5 we would solve our own countries problems before trying to solve other countries
Capital gain is more important than trying to solve problems that may be currently unsolvable. It could make sense to make money first, to pay for the knowledge / expertise to help you solve the problem.

17 April, 2018 at 10:51 am #1093507You know what Ge, i was enjoying reading and learning from this thread. So interesting. I was enjoying reading yours and everyone’s vews.
Google is one of my best friends, i use it every day, that’s what its there for.Alfie knows his stuff,he’s interested in the subject. May be a different view to yours but just as interesting. Who are you to be looking down your nose at anyone who wants to use google. You keep taking princess fits, don’t because people are waiting to see what your next posts going to be on the subject the thread is about.
17 April, 2018 at 10:54 am #1093508I think you’re missing the point. Weapons are Not the issue. Weapons don’t kill, people do.
A rolled up newspaper is a weapon.
A million pistols wont kill anybody without a finger to pull the trigger.
How many people have died from nuclear bombs?
How many lives have been preserved by nuclear bombs?
Mine certainly has.

You are just a drunken bum and so I really am not interested in your view. I have no issues with google, I have issues with frauds like Alfie passing off what they google as their own thoughts and ideas.
17 April, 2018 at 1:36 pm #1093512I don;’t think that jamie should be dismissed in that way, though I don’t agree with her that alfie knows his stuff. You’ve made some strong points in this thread which are weakened by this sort of thing.
Alfie, play your little games with someone else. You have no power over me, nothing to blackmail me with.
And that about sums it up.
If Bollox makes an interesting or relevant point, I’ll reply; otherwise
17 April, 2018 at 1:43 pm #1093513I can easily believe that Assad launched a chemical attack, though he doesn’t really have a motive. I cannot believe that this strike will have done anything other than to deepen the suffering of the Syrian people – Assad has already launched punishment bombing of civilian areas in Homs and Hama.
I can easily believe that the chemical attack was staged by the jihadis who make up the opposition. These are people with no scruples for truth or human life.
Robert Fisk, a long-standing journalist working for The Independent, has written an interesting account of the chemical attack where a doctor told him that the symptoms suffered by the children and adults at Douma were caused by a lack of oxygen in a confined space rather than chemicals.
It’s a fairly written article. Can we believe the doctor? Who do we believe in this sick mess?
Not Theresa May, who does just as her boss Trump tells her and when he tells her.

Rubbish. She had no need to stick her beak in and no need to do it rudely. I let it go the first time, take your blinkered spectacles of Sceptical. If they dish it out they are going to get it back. Especially Alfie and his non stop abuse towards me, in the room.
17 April, 2018 at 1:49 pm #1093518Oh and one of the so called “chemical plants bombed in Syria had been inspected only two weeks earlier by the relevant body (i’ll find a link later) and was found to be clear. May has been telling lots of porkie pies.

17 April, 2018 at 8:01 pm #1093536Had Hitler been assasinated in 1936, that loss of life would have been a success
Someone else would have risen to power, Germany was in a bad place.
