Yes Ruby, you are quite right. In my haste to “literally explode” i missed the year. So the Media are now staying within the law (as to naming or identifying minors) whereas at the time they didn’t necessarily have to do this.
I know that it is the current fashion to bash social workers – if only to get them to use the well worn phrase “Lessons can and will be learned” etc etc. HOWEVER, we mustn’t lose sight of the obvious.
It was the mother (and her two male colleagues / lovers) who did this killing. SHE was untimately responsible and lied time and time again to cover up her ghastly misdeeds.
I’m left thinking and wondering how many other murderous mothers are stopped by the timely intervention of the social services? OK they missed this one (and I’m sure many others) but we really need to accept that THEY didn’t torture and kill this child … its own mother did that.
Your right PB, it was the “mother” who killed the child, not the social workers. SHE was responsible for this poor childs death. But the signs were there, obvious signs that something was seriously wrong, and they sat back on their backsides and did NOTHING.
True Bat … but I’m kinda left wondering why it is that we (i.e. ‘society) have to pay millions so as to prevent people from killing, maiming, or ill treating their children.
Now what was that saying my Gran used ………. There is none so blind than those who don’t want to see.
5 years ago I did a Child Protection course for my job. The Climbie report had been realeased then. Lessons were supposed to of been learnt !! I have very recently attended an update course & these so called procedures to protect are quite obviously not working across the board.
Weren’t Haringey Social Services invloved there too ??
No words can describe the sadness felt at yet another loss of a child in the most terrible circumstances.
Isn’t it about time criminal charges were brought against these so called profesionals who quite obviously turned their back on this poor child – the injuries were horrific. There must be a few so called professionals with “blood on their hands” re this case NOT just the social services.
Some people are just sick.
They either use their kids as tools, or abuse them mentally, and physically. Why? Why are they GIVEN children in the first place?
Whilst compulsory sterilisation might be one solution to this …. who gets to make THAT decision??? Oh and don’t forget the armies of lawyers queueing up to defend their Human Rights will you!!!

Yet another case of everybody somebody & nobody. The no blame policy that is adopted by the Nhs & other agencies is a joke.
Ok the mother & her partner might of inflicted these terrible injuries but the child was already on the “at risk register” ffs. So the healthcare profs failed again & I blame the system.Sorry but this case has enraged me if you hadn’t all gathered –
It has enraged all decent folk Sarah and I’m sure they all share your views. By way of consolation, the Judge in the case has said that he is considering long prison sentences for all three participants in this dreadful matter. Hopefully he will be allowed to do just that.
Sarah it,s enraged the whole world hun. If you read some of the comments on the daily mail, there are people from all over the world condeming this. Look at these pictures they have released of this poor little kid. Breaks your heart it does. I just don,t understand how anyone can be so cruel, I really don,t. Long may they rot in hell. :evil:
