Have you ever been on a blind date and what were the consequences?
My best mate and her boyfriend set me up with his workmate
(shes apologised daily since)
He was a year younger than me and when I asked her what he was like she replied ‘I’d give him one’
I didn’t realise she did mean marks out of 10
We all met up at a pub first then went bowling.
I was so nervous I nearly killed us all with flying balls
We went our seperate ways at the end of the evening ( I’m a good girl I am)
We met up again the following week and ended living with each other for 5 years
He left me every other month for usually a week or so
The final time I logged on to JC
when he came crawling back I said nooooooooooo wayyyyyyyyyyy
The rest is history3 October, 2008 at 9:17 am #377357pretty much the same as that though we are now good friends
3 October, 2008 at 9:52 am #377358Hehehe..my best friend landed me in the shyte when she told me that the guy across the road was a looker and drove a massive suzuki m/bike. Well at sixteen, you’re a tad naive..so anyway..I phoned him up (I was always a pushy bint) and asked him out.
We arranged to meet outside the school gates on a dark Saturday winter evening.
I turned up with another friend in tow, thrilled to the bones at the prospect of this big throbbing machine between my thighs.
In the distance..the hum of the suzuki..the single headlight approaching..and suddenly there he was..skidding to a halt in front of us.
Then he took off his helmet. A looker? Yeah for King fecking Kong with acne. I tried pushing my mate towrds him saying ‘this is Esme’ but she was having none of it and legged it..I can still hear her laughing all the way down the road.
Anyway..I got on the back of the bike and we went bombing it through the night..and horrors..back to his garage..where I spent half an hour evading him around the petrol cans and lubricants and bike parts and anything else I could safely put between me and him.
Then, after I said I had to be home and he walked me to the bus stop (no way was I getting on that bike with him) and he asked to see me again..I told the biggest whopper off the top of my head..and said that the very next morning I was flying to Madeira with my folks to stay for a month. And he believed me..the poor innocent eejit.
With the promise of phoning him on my return, my bus pulled off towards the sanctity of home, with poor Kong waving and me slumped in my seat in hysterics.
The worst of it was..I ended up with one of his (gorgeous big blond) best friends a year later..but in the meantime I hadn’t learned my lesson..I’ll tell y’all about that later.

Tober — The circus lot, from the Romani for the road, as in ‘on the road.’
