Bin Laden’s a real hit in bradford

The people of Britain have some bizarre interests, according to the Internet search engine Google.

In Bradford, it’s Osama bin Laden. But in Brentford, it’s Viagra. Basildon, meanwhile, looks for sex.

Recently launched, Google Trends is a programme which allows users to see where most searches are made for particular words or phrases, and compare them with total searches for the UK. And the results paint a curious picture of the nation.

In St Albans, Hertfordshire, they are most likely to look up diets, gyms, pilates and plastic surgery.

Meanwhile, London tops the list for searches for champagne and caviar. And Liverpudlians, it seems, love their designer labels, searching most for Armani, Versace and Adidas.

Why the inhabitants of Winchester, Hampshire, should look up Adolf Hitler and global warming more than others is anyone’s guess. Bizarrely, even though more people in Bradford look up Osama Bin Laden and jihad or “holy war”, they were also most likely to search for Victoria Beckham.

Google says its system is still in an early stage of development and the data might contain inaccuracies. – Daily Mail

Assuming this is right, and knowing bradford has a large islamic community, is it then scary that more people want to know about Bin Laden and islamic holly war, than education, education, education.

Maybe there just educating themselves for a holly war on non muslims :(
