Shadow of A Doubt – well the man himself liked it but i’ve already said too much.

North by Northwest – good old rollicking fun and a visual masterpiece.

Marnie – lets just not go there.

Strangers on A Train – a two-person test of wills, great tension.

Rear Window – for a cool blonde grace kelly was hot ! all them sub-plots through the apartment windows. others hate it.

The Birds – disqualified for scaring me sh1tless as a child, and i’m still no good with birds.

    To Catch a Thief – mmmmm……..gracie….

Vertigo – has got to be up there ?

Pyscho – yeah i know we’ve all seen it too often. but that final chilling scene of perkins “thinking” in his mothers voice with the creepy eyes.

Notorious – my choice. stunning b+w cinematography, great restrained acting by grant in a non-comic role, bergman rarely sexier, rains the embodiment of believable evil (compare modern film villains). think it was in that truffaut interview he said it was his favourite.

    Others ? – why ?

LOL @ the birds, i couldnt hang the washing out for a week after watching that one!!! and the shower scene stil makes me jump in psycho lol , I did enjoy north by northwest though a story with enough drama without making me hide behind the cushion for most of the film…. and cary grant woz loverly lol
