now in Scotland with our new No Smoking in Public places ie inside…
if a pub has a beer garden and its a lovely warm sunny day….. should the outside be reserved for smokers only…? as after all we have to smoke outside…
im certainly lookin forward to seein how it pans out lol should be quite funny… see some headlines…. beer garden fight over who has right to sit…. lol i say non-smokers stay inside….
9 April, 2006 at 12:56 pm #208839I reckon it should be fair for both smokers and non smokers to able to use the beer garden. I smoke when I’m out on the beer but would hate to see other people have t stand to enable me to use the garden.
9 April, 2006 at 1:23 pm #208840why,,,/.??? we have to go oot in the pi’ss rain, wind etc to have a smoke… we’re bein curitis…. so let them show us some..! then u will get the non-smoker complaining about someone smokin in the beer garden next to them…..
9 April, 2006 at 8:40 pm #208841Iv voted no as i dont agree with anyone being able to reserve a seat at a PUBLIC house,
but smokers are being banned from smoking in pubs, thats al, smokers arent being banned from them, they can still go into them but if they want to smoke they go outside
but!!!!
i think smokers should be able to smoke in the beer garden, if the non smokers outside dont like it then they can go inside.
for years smokers have been told to go outside and smoke in places!!
and now they are how dare people complain lol! smokers smoke in the beer garden, im all for that
9 April, 2006 at 11:55 pm #208842they choose to smoke, why should they have extra rights? as for none smokers, let them smoke outside, nick there places when they have to get up to go to the faq machine :)
10 April, 2006 at 7:56 am #208843now now folks….. your being rather self-fish… i mean us smokers are accomadating your fine non-smokers people….
i am of the opintion children shouldnt be in or around pubs…. anyways..
all the big brewerys just cash in on the fact of single fathers/mothers takin the kids to play whilest they still get a pint…. encouraging young children the pubs are the life when older….. ironic eh,…..I think because I was brought up i the pub trade i am anti -children n pubs…
10 April, 2006 at 8:33 am #208844i don’t mind children in pubs, as long as they are well behaved, was in a weatherspoons recently, its a loverly pub, was with a female friend, ordered my food, was nice.. cheap and cheerfull, but all the way through eating we was sat next to this crying, screaming 6 year old kid, moan moan moan, cry cry cry cry… it was very off putting, i understand it is difficult for a parent, but i remember when i was younger, if my dad took me out for a treat, and any sign that i was mis behaving, off home we would go
anyway, yes smoking, its un attractive

I think it’s fine for children to be in pub garden’s, alot of pubs cater for them by having play area’s etc. It’s nice for the parents to enjoy a drink and a meal and watch their kids play happily, it keeps everyone happy. I think if you want to smoke, do it in your own back garden, but I think it should be banned from ALL public places.
10 April, 2006 at 2:06 pm #208846Thats a bit harsh like! all the non smokers have to sweat it out inside while the smokers get to bask in the sun fook that!
10 April, 2006 at 5:51 pm #208847what??
no smoking in public places as people will inhale the smoke??
hmmmm
ok but dont be driving to the pub!! and dont have a pub near a road!
its a well documented fact that carbon monoxide is bad for you :Dmy local wont let you smoke inside it, you can go outside they say, so fair eough the smokers go outside
at the moment people laugh at them!
hahahaha they say its freezing out there, lovely and warm in here
so the summer will come along and the smokers wont be allowed outside either??
discriminating against people with addictions im afraid
