7 July, 2009 at 6:54 am #400286If i remember rightly Jack Farrington was on jc long before UK Pilot joined and UK Pilot is now known as Joker i think
7 July, 2009 at 7:53 am #400287You and Stripey are quite correct Sue. Jack was here long before UK Pilot. They are indeed different people. During my time as staff at JC I had the pleasure of booting Jack many times. UK Pilot might be a bit of a nob sometimes but he isn’t in Jacks league. Jack is sick in the head.
7 July, 2009 at 8:54 am #400288Jack Farrington and UKPilot are most definitely not the same person, and tbh I don’t even see how people can confuse the two. There are a lot of nasties out there, but the tendency these days seems to be to accuse each and every one of being jack or pilot, or now maybe even they’re all pilot. The fact is that some of the nasties are probably regulars in disguise and people that we know….surely I can’t be the only person to realise that?
This is an adult site, it does not claim to be moderated 24/7, and the assumption is that we are all adults – unfortunately that is measured in physical age rather than mental age. So, if we’re all adults, we can spot the nasties and see how they operate, surely? and surely we’re adult enough to not rise to the bait and to use our iggy button or even, heaven forbid, our off button? If people wind you up it’s because you have given them the power to do so, you can take back that power at any time.
Time and again I sit there watching otherwise rational people taking the bait, feeding the trolls, getting very wound up until in “defending themselves” they become as bad as the abuser. While they are in this tunnel vision they don’t seem to realise that they are giving the abuser the very attention they crave, showing themselves in a less than flattering light, and being oblivious to the chatters that they do like leaving the rooms because this isn’t what they came to chat for. They don’t realise that the “nice” chatters are leaving, and all that will be left given enough time are the abusers, the “defenders” and the newbies who wonder what the hell they’ve joined. And then we get the “he/she started it” – this isn’t a playground (despite the number of people who come here for “fun”), it doesn’t matter who started it, what matters is how it develops, and it takes two (or more) to make that happen.
If chatters brought a huge sack of salt into the room with them and apllied large pinches regularly to what other chatters say, if they stopped giving out personal information that they wouldn’t want to see in the room, and if they exercised their iggy buttons and off switches more regulary, the nasties would get bored and find somewhere else to abuse….speaking of which, Jack is probably rubbing his hands in glee right now at all the attention that he’s stirred up.
