Anyone watch Gordon behind bars – its just finished on chanel 4.
Gordon Ramsey went into Brixton prision to set up a business to get prisions working.

Anyway he ended up setting up Bad Boys Bakery where the inmates make lemon trickle slices to sell to the public and Cafe Nero has taken them on board.

One of the inmates who now has being released and is working away in a top restraunt doing well – fair play to him.

An other one who got released was a junkie and was given a job working in one of Ramseys restrants but unfortunatly went back on drugs so he is no longer working there – you’d have to watch this to see full story, i felt so sorry for him as Herion has to be one of the hardest drugs to get off. Gordon offered him a chance as he didnt want him in limbo – he reminded Gordon of his owns brothers struggle.

First i was thats a brilliant idea but i wouldnt eat something that came out of a prison as whats stopping them from spitting in to them etc.
Then I thought more about it and the inmates where delighted to learn a new trade, gave them something to do (they were locked up for over 20 hours a day otherwise giving nout back to the system)

Also they have everything to gain from this experence and with guards watching their every move theres probably more chance of a low paid (or any paid worker) working in a food factory of spitting in the mix then a prisoner.

Guess what you dont know can’t kill ya.

Anyway, my question is – Would any of you eat something that was made by a inmate in prison?

Or have any of you tried these Bad Boys Bakerys slices in the Cafe Nero’s??

Food cooked in jail doesn’t sound too tempting does it?… however I have eaten in a couple of Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurants.

For anyone who doesn’t know Jamie offers apprentice-style training and creates employment opportunities for young disaffected people, between the ages of 18 and 24, who are in need of a second chance in life.

Maybe they spat in my food … but that’s a risk at any restaurant isn’t it…. have to tell you the meals were lovely at fifteen :D I’m sure that the set up is much the same in prisons… so yes Id try the lemon slices :D

If it’s a lemon cupcake i’m not bothered where it comes from, i would plunge my bare hands in to the earth and release it from a pile of dung and still eat it.
