I dont think everyone should go around glum faced for one minute, however , perhaps some on here are merely suggesting that perhaps this thread is not the place to start a whole string of sick jokes on?
I dont think we have grasped the enormity of this case, a woman has been robbed of 24 years of her life, been subjected to god knows what by a controlling sick freak!! 2 teenagers who have never seen the light of day , one seriously ill, one goodness knows in what psychological state.
The little boy 5 years old , does he stand a chance? or does he stand a chance of reocurring dreams about his mother being abused? i wonder if this sick control freak also abused the teenagers? who knows. all i do know is that a person who can imprison, control, rape, beat his own daughter and keep his own grandchildren prisoner never letting them out even to see daylight is capable of anything.
so when sick jokes are going round, i dont expect any of you for one minute to go around miserable, we all have our own lives to lead, we cannot save the world. TV and films have hardened us to violence , rape, sexual abuse , shootings and general blood and guts, no i really dont expect you to go around miserable with every hard luck story we may hear, but i what would be good would be a little compassion and respect, something this poor woman and her children have probably never ever experienced.
personally i expect a bit of a slamming for this post but you know what? i dont give i f*ck , you may not always agree with what i say , but i defend my right to say it, just as i do yours.
so for my bit i just want to hope that Elisabeth finds some peace and love in her life time.

the daughter had been so deprived of Vit D she had white hair when she emerged. And her children’s eyes had to be sheilded from the daylight as they had NEVER seen it.
Have you ever been to Basildon ???
All i can say is every cloud has a silver line, at least the poor girl has been spared Big Brother !
2 May, 2008 at 5:17 pm #332278I myself am appalled by the cavalier attitude that some people have taken in this thread. I bet you wouldn’t even shed a tear if that man was your neighbour. Cath55 is right, we can’t devote ourselves to every victim of such attrocities, because if we did then we would be mourning for the rest of our lives, but for god’s sake would some of you at least restore an iota of my faith in humanity again by at least attempting to show some form of compassion towards that poor women who has been living a nightmare.
2 May, 2008 at 5:33 pm #332279Oh dear oh dear. A bit of light hearted very tongue in cheek humour and everybodies going mental!
The facts are these people are now SAFE. They have been found and can now somehow (I dread to think how?!) continue with some sort of life.
It is a relief, and its a story that is so “out there” it is really hard to comprehend that it is infact real, but yes real it is!
It is a well known tradition that human’s use humour in the most dire of circumstances, most of those circumstances have a lot worse fate than the Austrian lockaways.
A good friend of mine is dying, but his humour is sicker than anybodies that I know, it sickens me! To think he soon wont be here fills me with dread, but I will remember him for his bravery at being able to smile and stick two fingers up to all that he faces.
We are all dying, the sooner some of us adapt that that little fact into our own lives and those around us the sooner we will enjoy this thing called life.
Lets just lighten up a bit folks, dont take things so seriously. 8)
