The point is, though, I think, that of course there are things that shouldn’t be joked about. Otherwise we should relegate ourselves to giggling imbeciles. Where’s the nobility in that? Yes, dark humour as a coping mechanism in the face of a personal loss can be valuable but it is entirely different to cheap mirth at someone else’s tragedy. It is disingenuous to link the two. Weren’t people not so far from this thread taking the opportunity to take that Anita chap to task for joking about Frank Lampard’s recent loss? That has to be double standards at the very least, surely.

Er …. without wishing to add unnecessarily to this controversy and on a point of accuracy – Pikey’s original post said “cheap mirth” which presumably was the phrase he intended to use.
The infamous JC censor has NOT been at work here.

As for all this stuff about it being inappropriate and on the wrong thread, what a load of boll.cks. Since when did anyone on these boards ever stick to the original topic?? Rarely. At least these jokes are keeping to the topic, even if they are throwing humour on an otherwise morbid subject. Lighten up ffs.

I think they will be ok
People have been thru worst than this, similar things were said after the death camps of ww2.
But the main problem is that the kids will not live than long, I would be surpize if they make it to 40.
The other is that we have been told about “insest”
We all know about the mother sex life, but not the kids.
I am sure that will come out soon.
What we should be thinking about is how these people are going to mange without birth certs and the rest of the paper work we all have.
Its going to be hard for them to prove who they are, harder for them to deal with things likes shopping and driving or just taking the bus.
I think you should all see this has “year zero” for them, everything is new, wonderfull and life can’t be any worst than the past.
Its going to be ok.
