great idea anubis!!! now all i need is to know how to do it :D :D

    #110501

start> run> type msconfig and press enter, now select the radio button thats says ‘diagnostic boot’ click on apply then click ok, when you are prompted to reboot click OK.

Now try to run your av scanner.

To start in normal mode just follow the above instructions but select the radio button that says ‘normal start up’.

Is your AV client Norton by any chance?
