I thought you were into debating Gaz so why not debate the supposed connection between the report and lap dancing clubs?

To believe that workers in the lap dance profession are without any connection to the sex trade is naïve. My response to your remark regarding my first response was to assume you assumed I meant only the lap dancing profession, an error on my part.
    Quite simply ~

In an environment of increasing labour migration, ever more restrictive immigration policy and an increasingly globalised capitalism that favours ‘flexible’, and low paid, workers, migrants have come to form the majority of those who sell sex.

If youd lower your obviously high moral standards for one night and go to a club and then dare to talk to the “fully clothed”girls you would in fact find them to be quite normal with respectable backgrounds and – shock horror – some of them are even married.I even dared buy one of them a drink so i must be totally debauched.

Ok, Have to reply to this, against my better judgement here goes.

Its true that some women do Lap dancing and survive, some have degrees some fund their way through university some do it because it fits in with family and provides a good living. When I say survive that’s just what I mean because there is another face to Lap Dancing…. why do you think that the majority (not all) of clubs have private booths? maybe for little private chats? the truth is that Lap dancing is sex on the High Street and for those who say they enjoy it

“Milly, who entered the lap-dancing industry at the age of 24, said: “Of course you have to smile, pretend you’re enjoying it. That’s the act you have to put on.”

In a candid interview with The Times, lap dancer, Milly also shatters the myth that the practice “is no more than dancing”.

“No one sticks to that,” she said. “And if you do, you quickly lose out.”

She added: “Whether individual women feel degraded by them or not, lap-dancing degrades all of us because it’s providing a socially acceptable place for women to be treated as sex objects.”

Milly also warned that men need to appreciate the negative impact which the industry is having on women.

She said: “The only way to really change things, if there is such a thing as an equal society, is if men learn to understand that paying for sexual stimulation is degrading and does have a negative impact. It’s not just a bit of fun.”

I’m glad you all had a good time on your night out and it may be that you went to a club that really was just dancing (which I doubt) but please dont try to make these clubs sound innocent and just entertainment. That might be the experience you had… but dont kid yourself that’s all it is for all men.

I dont know what type of club it was that Milly worked in but i can only go from experience of the two clubs i have been on the stag nights to.Not that i went in the booths(honest i didnt)but there is a notice up outside the booths telling the customers that all booths are covered by CCTV which is monitored by security and a strict 12 inch rule(no pun intended)is imposed, meaning – if you get within 12 inches of the girl you receive a warning,do it a second time and the dance ends immediately,if you touch a girl you will be immediately ejected from the club,no doubt rather unceremoniously by one of the rather large security guards.

As for degrading to the women,i can go on first hand experience of what they told me and dont have to rely on second hand information from a newspaper.

Just to add,Tut to all you women who have ever been to see a male stripper or the likes of the Chppendales

I have been to see the Chippendales and I have also had some close….erhum….harmless fun at Hen Do’s with strippers….

however generally…..and I mean generally….not always…..women don’t expect sex like men do when we go to these events. I am not saying all men are the same…nor are all women….but generally men would probably expect sex once things start hotting up. And as for all these rules etc….I imagne by law they have to be put up, but we all know what happens in alot of clubs etc. Some of these establishments are just alternative names and excuses for brothels.

I am not saying all men who go to these clubs, have sex with these dancers, just as not all the women who go to see male shows don’t cop off with any of the male dancers.
