I like this thread and Im jumpin on with no link yet as I have to go in a mo…

But I remember the morning John Lennon died. My mum was bathing me with the sink bowl in the front room and we had the big lights on, cos it was dark. It came on the news. Will never ever forget it.

Our wallpaper and carpet were horrid, and I can still picture it, with the news blaring out from the telly. I didnt have much thought other than ah what a shame, poor man, but I didnt know him. Till my dad taught me all about it.

    I remember that day too.

My dad – knowing how big a fan I was – popped in from work to tell me.
A few days later I was in Liverpool.
The Cavern Club was a car park then – it’s been rebuilt since.
I’m going back in August to do a proper Beatles tour – something I’ve been wanting to do for years.

My childhood, was abit of a blur! me Mum & Dad were always p*ssed at the pub..Me & me brother spent most of our childhood at me nans, or at the caravan with me nan. Me dad
was quiet rich in them days..he used to work in the print! was good pay in the 70`s. So we
had plenty of holidays, but we just remeber em being drunk inviting people back for partys, and hearing Frank Sinartra a million times! aint done us no harm though…My mum
only has a bottle of wine now.. and it takes her 2 days to get over it! Bless!
