    i have a room to be carpeted, its 17′ 6″ by 5’9″ can anyone tell me what the square metre measurement is of that please? :oops:

    Depends on the shape of the room! But converted strictly it is 9.5 sq meters!

    It does matter! Cos the carpet layer will cut it into the shape of your room, so ya don’t want to go buy one large square bit of carpet which aint long enough!! lol

    lol cheers, i just rang a carpet place , asked them for a ball park figure for a middle of the range carpet and they quoted me £400!!!!! that includes underlay and fitting tho but ffs its only a bedroom, i will be shopping around or go without lol x

    Just phone them and tell them the measurements in feet who knows they may have an offcut as it’s not a very wide room
