I`m shocked that people actually watch the game of, of, er what`s it called, er, oh yeah tennis.
Honestly though, if Murray gets through and wins the final, how many of the media will actually say he is “Scottish” and prefer to say he is British???The media want to call him british, because they want to report his failure or success to a wider auidience.
What they dont focus on much, is his anti-English stance, and his scottish wrist band.
1 July, 2006 at 12:05 pm #228488Look the guy make a rash comment. That’s all.
Im sure he said “Anyone but England” as a joke, but even if he didnt mean it as a joke, he should have really kept his opinion to himself.
If the guy wants to wear a Saltire sweatband whats the problem with that? He is Scottish after all.1 July, 2006 at 12:47 pm #228489@Bad Manners wrote:

1 July, 2006 at 12:52 pm #228490You seem to be a bit angry that Oor Andy’s the last Brit left standing in the whole tournament Emma. :D More power to him.

1 July, 2006 at 2:43 pm #228493Go MURRAY!!! *o/* *o/* *o/*
This match is going to be very difficult – but hope he plays his best.
And so what if he is Scottish – he is representing Great Britain…but I do think the Saltire wrist band is a nice touch. With so many people lately slating our country for being cr@p at sport, it is a nice reminder of exactly who is keeping the british hopes alive in the tennis. 8)

1 July, 2006 at 7:23 pm #228495Let’s have some credit for this guy who’s just beaten the number 3 in the world, and a twice Wimbedon finalist in straight sets. The words fantastic and magnificent spring to mind. :D British tennis is in safe hands.

This Scottish hating and English hating has to stop.
And I agree with you, Bad…British tennis is still alive with this up and coming 19 year old…Well played to him..I have been watching him all year on the tournements Live Score Boards….He is going to be better than Henman and Rudseki ever were.
Again, well played to him.
