They are representing themselves. But in a sport where athletes do represent themselves, Coulthard, Button, Henman, Montgomerie, etc. I like to think as British people we can support them, as we do come major events like the Davis Cup, Ryder Cup, Olympics, etc. And before you start picking holes BM I do recognise the identity of Scots, English, Irish and Welsh. But I support them as a nation when they compete for themselves or as a union.
I’m with Magoo on this one – I love most sports – watch them whenever possible
I always want homegrown talent to do well , whether from England Ireland Scotland or Wales
I’d love to see Murray win major tournament in the near future , and Henman has been great for British tennis , he’s maintained a high ranking for years not an easy taskFor anyone to get in the top 20 or 30 in World ranking is a great achievement – down to lots of hard work and dedication – don’t knock them
I was gonna have a really late dinner, and just watch the Federer-Henman match up. I havent even had time to get hungry yet.

What do you mean by “represent”?
What benefit did scotland, wales and NI get, when the Englishman henman, won his round one match?
If England win the WC, who gets the medals and wages? What will the other british country people get?
Sportsmen and women engage our support to help THEM win, not anyone else.
If you get REAL value for money at their event, fine, your being entertained, but lets not pretend that all britons support all those who “represent” us, and that those sports men and women do it for us.

I`m shocked that people actually watch the game of, of, er what`s it called, er, oh yeah tennis.
Honestly though, if Murray gets through and wins the final, how many of the media will actually say he is “Scottish” and prefer to say he is British???Tough game for Andy tommorow against Andy Ro.ddick. I doubt he’ll survive it.
