Oh your in the sh1t now.
You asked me:
Do I need to have broadband supplied by BT to use the BT Home Hub?My answer is:
The BT Home Hub is configured for use with BT Total Broadband only.1 March, 2007 at 10:29 pm #262740Nope you are going to have to buy a new wirless router.
We have been testing one here for the last 20 mins and we can’t get it to work on “be there”
We are still playing with it, but no luck.
We are trying to work out why, but don’t see to beable to find the answer.
Its seem the bt hub is not just a wirless router, it can do a lot more than wirless, just has phone and moblie phone service.
If your not on the BT system it will not work.
Its more of a remote connextion, than a router.
Any way just sell it and by a new wirless router for about £30 second hand. A new one is bout £45-70

2 March, 2007 at 9:14 pm #262743Hi Sweet
(Sorry to butt in DOA….)
All the info you need is here sweet, choose you model and run with the instructions, you should be back online soon, I guess your using another PC right now?
3 March, 2007 at 9:24 am #262744Ok it looks like you have the worng wireless router for your home.
Without looking it up on line I can’t tell you if you have brought a router for cable service or a landline.
One works with cable like ntl, and has a ethernet cable port.
The other has a small line out that plugs into a phone filter.
You need the one with the line to the phone filter and a filter.
Forget about the bt home hub, just plug the new stuff into a normal phone wall box.
4 March, 2007 at 9:51 pm #262745Thanks Druid..had a quick look at it tonight, but will check it out properly when i have more time… im able to connect on the main pc using the dsl cable, but even though ive set up the other 2 pc’s to use wirlessly with the set up disc that came with the router ..they bloody well wont :!:   Will let you know how i got on…………………………..   As for you DOA…i’ve bought another router and the man in the shop said its the correct one for the phone line……. and it does have the cables needed  Thanks to both of you for all your help…. its been much appreciated :!: :D

Official JC Moron :lol:6 March, 2007 at 11:15 am #262747Ugo go back to looking at porn.
Your not that good at fixing computers and it shows.
But if you was, you would know that when people buy stuff like a computer they all beleave its just plug and play.
There not most of the time.
They all seem to think that an old second hand computer is just the same has a new one.
They can’t understand why there computer has a problems or the fact most of them are out of date within 5 years.
They can’t understand why they have to keep buying new stuff for them.
The main problem with computers is here a bit too flexable, and easy to f-u-c-k up.
Computers are a work tool, not a toy.
