Il be honest here and it may offendd

as sad as i feel for children who are homeless i do go to sleep at night sometimes thinking how happy i am with what i have

and why?? because i deserve it! i earnt it! if i spent my life thinking about homeless people then when would i allow myself anytime to enjoy myself?

or is that not allowed either?

i give to a few charities il even buy a homeless beggar a cup of tea or a sandwich, but i dont go to sleep thinking about them.

its regrettable it really is but…..

Into what language? Is it not clear? Its fecking clear to me. Understand this: if you are that smug and happy donate some money this christmas to the families that are left homeless due to the downfall of our own government. Yes, the government that YOU voted for.

Or, do what you probably will do. Snuggle up in your comfy bed and dream of the good day you have had.

    Sicko

Well i think more money should go on all these old people who are freezing to death because they cannot afford to heat their homes so they are not surviving the winter. THAT is disgusting as most pensioners fought in a war for this contry and are left pennyless to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The freeloaders are living the life of luxury p/isses me off!

I didn’t say that there wasn’t poverty in this country, my point was that countries much poorer than us carry the biggest burden when it comes to refugees and asylum seekers. The fact of the matter is that if you’re homeless in the UK you’re still better off than you would be if you were homeless in a 3rd world country. You forget that we have the NHS here that will treat people for free and there are homeless shelters and charities aimed at helping those people. In some countries there is very little (if any) support for the homeless and some countries do not provide free medical treatment. In fact, in some countries, street kids are routinely killed by death squads. So instead of whinging about how hard done by British people are, be thankful for what you’ve got.

Remember that if we try to pull out of treaties relating to refugees then everybody else will too, which will just lead to more people dying around the world. Remember too that British citizens had to temporarily use Cyprus as a place of asylum during the conflict in Lebanon. Imagine how harder it would have been to evacuate those people if no country was willing to accept evacuees even on a temporary basis.

On the issue of development aid, we get a lot of products from poorer countries e.g. tea, coffee, sugar, cocoa, gold, diamonds, etc. If we were to decide that we weren’t going to give them any more aid and we were going to maintain unfair trade policies and exploitation of those countries, then it’s possible that they could resort to radical measures. I’m not an economist (so I could be wrong) but I imagine in a scenario like the one I just mentioned poorer countries might be driven to start forming cartels for their various products which would result in a significant rise in prices over here.

a friend of mine a good friend infact is on the dole at the moment and he is loving it! he will go back to work eventually once he has had time to relax and enjoy himself with no worries about rent or council tax etc etc etc

thats alright for him surely though he fought in the gulf……..

So your saying that we in England should work, not only to feed ourselves and those who are unfortunate in our country, but we should be forced to go to work to feed anyone who is less fortunate in other countries?

There must be millions, billions less fortunate than you, do you work 16 hours monday to sunday?

So instead of whinging about how hard done by British people are, be thankful for what you’ve got.

We work, to pay people to run our society, for the benefit of us, thats the whole point of our society. If we dont get a fair deal, we are entitled to complain.

Remember that if we try to pull out of treaties relating to refugees then everybody else will too, which will just lead to more people dying around the world.

    Why is that our fault?

Should the billionaires in England, fund us mere poorpers? Should the billionaires be forced to spend billions of money on third world countries, before we do?

Remember too that British citizens had to temporarily use Cyprus as a place of asylum during the conflict in Lebanon. Imagine how harder it would have been to evacuate those people if no country was willing to accept evacuees even on a temporary basis.

Do the british government/forces look after Cyprus?

You mean, they make money through the products they sell us, but that isnt good enough, soand we should pay them more than the going rate, just because they dont/cant earn a great wage?

Should we aid shop keepers after buying their products too?

I’m not an economist (so I could be wrong) but I imagine in a scenario like the one I just mentioned poorer countries might be driven to start forming cartels for their various products which would result in a significant rise in prices over here.

Its about supply and demand, if they feel they dont earn enough, all they have to do is put the price up, if theres still a demand, they earn more, thats fair trade.

Im not saying anthing about that. My argument is this country are trying hard to bring in immigrants and fix their lives when sooooooooo many old people in this country die because the cannot afford heating. Also my friends dad worked in a factory since he was 16 now 57 he was made redundant without a pay off. He had to go on the dole but goes to the job center everyday and is a proud man. His wife is working full time but the cant afford to live properly and get no help at all and he wants to work but its hard. Some people are purely just freeloaders!! Get rid of them.

Becky, your quite right some of the people coming in to the country are here for the easy ride, put yourself in their position:
You live in a sh*thole country that has no health care or social care system, there is no work and your family starves every day. Do you:

    A. put up with it

    B. go to the U.K. and have it easy.

I know what I’ll do, so to blame them is unfair, I bet you’d do the same.

However, some of the people coming in are professionals, Doctors, lawyers teachers, etc. and they probably pay a shed load of tax, which keeps the health service and the like going. So we need to be careful by labeling all immigrants as malingerers, a system like the Aussies have would be better, then we can vet and be selective about them, because despite what Emma rants on about we need immigrants because we can’t do it all by ourselves.

So we need 1.7 million people on unemployment benefit?

It must SURELY be beneficial to you and me, that we train someone here, who then doesn’t claim benefit, but pays tax?

When we have no unemployment, or we cannot train the unemployed, is the only point in which we should invite people to do jobs here.
