The CEED (Charity) Limited operates Positive Action Traineeships under section 37 of the Race Relations Act (1976), designed to develop individual skills and train adults, from Black and other minority ethnic groups, for entry into technical, medical or professional positions where they are currently under-represented.

To be eligible for the Positive Action Training Programme you must be of black or other minority ethnic origin, i.e. African, Asian, Caribbean, Chinese (section 37 of the Race Relations Act [1976] applies).

The Traineeships are supported with funding from the European Social Fund.

Should white people be given the same human rights?

CEED’s mission is to ‘improve the economic well being of those currently disadvantaged in the labour market and in business, in particular those
    from minority ethnic groups’.

I see no racial discrimination, apart from your attempt to make this a
    blacks v whites issue

Theres nothing wrong with racial discrimination. I know the difference between one race and another.

“To be eligible for the Positive Action Training Programme you must be of black or other minority ethnic origin, i.e. African, Asian, Caribbean, Chinese (section 37 of the Race Relations Act [1976] applies).”

The above is anti-white racism, approved by the lovers of anti-white racism, the new labour government.

Owen,,,,,,,,,while, as you know, I often disagree with Emma and do wonder if her rants are the outcome of the latest BNP newsletter.

Around 3/4 years ago, having gained a ‘B’ pass on GCSE English and an equal ‘B’ pass on English Lit/Language. ‘A’ Level. I then attempted to gain access to an ESOL course (english for speakers of other languages) for those who dont know what it means. My aim was to be able to eventually teach english to those who had little knowledge of it. I was refused entry onto the course, the reason given was that I was already english, the course was for others who had less knowledge. I explained that I felt in doing the course it would perhaps give me a better understanding of ways in which to be able to teach. I could then have gone on for a further year to do the PGCE which would then qualify me to teach.

I was told no, I would have to start from scratch, do an access course, which would have involved me taking the GCSE English again, (which seemed to be a bit of a waste of time to me) Then progress on. The entire thing would have taken 4/5 years. As a mature student, the previous way, would have had the same results, but would have taken 2 years. Of course, as a more mature student, in 4/5 years, I would have had much less chance of a teaching post, than I would in the 2 years.

The whole point being, if someone from Africa/Asia/ any ethnic minority you could name basically were refused entry onto a course on those kind of grounds, they would be shouting racism from the rooftops.

I’m going to post another incident on here which happened to me today Owen, see what you make of it

    As promised

Today I went along to the local town hall to renew my parking permit, as the old one runs out today. Until last year i’d never had to get a parking permit, I moved around this time last year and parking outside your home where I live now needs having to have a permit.

When I went along last year, I filled in the form, went to the desk, and I was asked for my Insurance and Log book, neither of which I realised i’d need, so I had to go back a couple of days later. The documentation I produced was the parking permit form, log book, insurance and my blue badge, which exempts me from payment. No problem, the permit was issued.

So,,,,,,,,,,today, I went along with the necessary documentation and waited my turn in the queue. The gentleman behind the counter was black, the gentleman in front of me was black, he handed over his form, log book and insurance and was issued with the permit and off he went……….I walked up, gave him all my documents, and he demanded 2 further means of I.D. I asked why I needed them, I hadn’t previously, he said it says so on the back of the form. I explained well it’s obviously changed then because I hadn’t needed further I.D. last year, he said, in a very surly manner, well you need it now. I asked to see the manager, and my question to him would have been, if I need it, why didn’t the gentleman who he’d served before me, need it. At my request to speak to the manager, his reply was, well i’ll do it for you this time, but in future, you will need further proof of I.D. ,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!

    Racism in reverse????

    Racism in reverse????

Typical stories of what life is today. Gets your back up doesnt it Cas? You know im not racist far from it but all this where its an easy ride and 1 rule for minorities and 1 for us i do think thats what creates racism. You dont set out to be a racist but the goverments treatment of majorities and minorities creates hate and thats my view!

Exactly Becky,,,,,,,,,,it made me so angry, although I did keep my cool……Freind of mine said to me this afternoon, when he said well i’ll do it this time you shoulda let him do it and then said, well i’d still like some kind of explanation from the manager. I didn’t see the point though,,,,,,,it doesn’t get you anywhere.

I used to work for the local council before my son was born, 18 years ago, while I was there they had to start a policy of employing a certain amount of Black and Ethnic Minority. It seems to me though now, that they’re in the majority, every person I seem to see or speak to whenever I need to visit the council offices are either black or asian. On the whole, I don’t have a problem with this, I do however, have a problem with the way they seem to think they can speak to you!

I needed to go to the housing benefit offices around this time last year, because I do get a certain amount of housing benefit, to change my address etc., It was first thing in the morning, so she couldn’t use the excuse that she’d had a bad day with the general public, but the way she spoke to me was unreal!! I said excuse me, but if you continue to speak to me like a dog, then i’ll respond in the same manner, so would you like to take a deep breath and start again, she was nice as pie after that
