Ancient Practices Still Practised

In ancient times many primitive societies worshiped the Moon and tribal life followed it’s four-weekly phases.

This practice continues today, only the object of worship is now called the Salary. Like the Moon, the Salary waxes full and shining at the end of the month, but then quickly wanes to a half, then a quarter Salary before almost disappearing altogether and the week before the Salary’s next appearance is often a time of fasting, with one’s free time spent in quiet contemplation of the next full Salary’s glorious coming.
