The first death caused by a missile from the Hamas-controlled area since the end of Israel’s military offensive came an hour after Baroness Ashton, the European Union high representative, arrived in the territory.

Media briefing note to Hamas press offficers:
OK, get a bunch of flea-ridden Palestinians to smuggle a few more rockets than usual through the tunnels from Egypt. It won’t matter if any are killed doing this ‘cos we won’t tell anybody and anyway, who cares – we don’t!
Wait until some reasonably well known Western public figure visits the hated Israelis and launch a barrage of these rockets over the Gaza border into Israel. (NB The EU Foreign Minister is visiting about now).
It doesn’t matter who you kill (children and babies will get us the most Media coverage) but the more killed the better it will be for us. As soon as the rockets have been fired off, surround yourself with press photographers so that they can takes pictures of the inevitable Israeli counter strike. Make sure that a few “innocent” Palestinians are killed as well – arrange this yourself if necessary. Remember, the more gory the pictures the better.
Issue a press release telling the world that this is yet another example of unwarranted Israeli aggression against the long suffering Palestinian people of Gaza.
Sit back with a smirk on your face for a job well done and await the receipt of even more millions of dollars from Iran & Syria.
