Grr Argos Direct just delivered 12 boxes to me on behalf of homebase and they dumped them at my front door!!! OMG some weighed in at 48.9kg are over 6 foot long and clearly state 2 man handling on the box and they watched me struggle to get them out of the way of the hall so they could deliver the next box…
I even told them I had a bad ticker and they still never helped me and I hurt my arm :(
1) 2 men watched a girl struggle
2) why the F*** did I pay for them to deliver it if I would have to carry it in myselfArghhhhhhhhgos are poo!
Complain and complain loudly and dont just take sorry for an answer
From the Argos website:
Any item marked as Home Delivery Only will be delivered to your room of choice provided drivers do not feel there are any health and safety issues such as a staircase which is too narrow or there is danger of damage to the customer property. (Delivery to room of choice is not available on items marked as home delivery only usually within 48 hours)
IMO even if the item doesn’t qualify for room delivery it should still be placed inside your property, not outside. I’d be inclined to complain to Argos.
Reminds me of the time I had a double bed delivered from a local furniture store; I was living on my own, they’d subcontracted the delivery, and the delivery driver asked me where I wanted the bed. Naturally I said the bedroom, at which he said he didn’t “do stairs” so he’d leave it in the lounge. I stopped him coming in and told him he could either put the bed in my bedroom or he could take it back, his choice. The bed was delivered to the bedroom :D
We had somthing delivered once, can’t remember what now….we were told its kerbside drop only by the driver…the company “forgot” to mention this :roll:
What a load of crap that is.My jewellery display cabinets were delivered like that, two to a pallet and the guy wanted the pallets, couldn’t seem to understand why I wouldn’t unload these expensive glass cabinets there and then all by myself.
I also had some cabinets delivered to the shop that were supposed to be kerbside delivery, the guy arrived a day earlier than expected and just carried them straight into the shop and put them in position for me too.
Delivery drivers…so unpredictable!
I have a front doorway only a midget can get in without requiring traction. I don’t order anything that I know that I cannot lift myself, without help. In fact, I rarely get anything delivered to my door. In fact.. I have put off ordering a dishwasher for nine months now because i am terrified by what will happen when it turns up!
