This has been going on for years..and will continue to go on for years. But I think
while they continue to knock out kids, it just adds too the problem. Its not their fault!!

But contraceptive would be a good start.

ok.. fasty beat me to it in the flippancy department .. but i still say it wasnt as cruel at some of the offensive postings on here.

But i will let it lie..

and i pondered the fine words. and i agree. Im sure the great man would have meant starving children in his ” helpless a creature ” too.

The abhorrence at the plight of the poor and the starving is a ‘given’ with any decent, sentient human being. An equal abhorrence at the exploitation of animals is not; we don’t farm human babies for food or clothing; they aren’t herded into trucks and journeyed through towns and cities to specially constructed buildings, to be (crying in fear) hanged by the heels and stunned prior to having throats cut, or bolts shot through their skulls.
Human babies aren’t sliced and diced into stews and sandwiches, and coats and shoes, and so much a part of a fabric of society that never a thought is given to the butchery and slaughter in our midst.
So…when Ghandi said (and i’ll quote it again as it bears saying many times)”The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man” he was addressing SOLELY the moral bankruptcy of any society that exploits and abuses animals.
I say again, the abhorrence at the plight of the poor and starving is a ‘given.’ As long as the vile abuse of animals continues to be nothing more than an afterthought, then I shall continue to live by what the great man said, and won’t be lectured that in so doing it makes me less of a humanitarian, on the fuc.king contrary!

The difference it makes pete is that if they can,t feed themselves, what chance have the children got? They shouldn,t keep churning out kids when they can barely feed and water themselves.

so they say we might have drought and we might be starving so what we’ll do is just have the one but seeing as we dont get decent medical care anyway that child could die and when we get to say 55-60 we’ll die cause we havent any state run homes It’s survival it’s what theyve always HAD to do and i’d bet what we’d do in their place

was there a particular reason for quoting me Pete ?

Did I not, in your opinion, make a valid contribution then ?

Or is there something funny about the word firewood ?
