Apparently the government are considering a total ban on drivers drinking any alcohol at all this Christmas holiday.
At first I thought… quite right too… then I remembered I am fed up with all this legislation nibbling away at our personal freedom. I suppose the reasonable argument would be if it saves one life we should do it…. but i’m not happy with being told what to do by government all the time….. and where does personal responsibility kick in?
Its 1st of December today by the way…… yay!!…. Happy Christmas Everyone :D
1 December, 2011 at 1:09 pm #483972Hmm it does sound like a good idea to save lives but agree with you on personal responsibilty. It would probably be easier to pull off if pubs had free tea & coffee for designated drivers or a curtisy bus/taxi.
1 December, 2011 at 1:37 pm #483973Sounds like a good idea to me…it would cut out the confusion how some think they are “ok” and even though they have only had 2 pints…we all absorb alcohol differently and 2 pints can make someone over the limit and on some poeple not even touch a reading…
For years and years I never even got in the car after I touched a drink…even if it was a sip of wine..point blank did not want to get in a car and drive…recently however…not sure why…I have started to drive after a couple of smirnoff ices…extremely out of character for me….
So aside from the interfering nanny state aspect of it …it’s a good idea …even if it’s to kick my arse into gear1 December, 2011 at 1:45 pm #483974i think if sums caught drinkin n drivin wether theyve had alot or not they shud be banned nemind just a fine tis disgraceful to think that u can drive wen uve had a drink …thats me rant over with
1 December, 2011 at 1:53 pm #483975I agree to drink over the limit is wrong… and actually kenty you made some good points.. I never drink and drive…. its just all this legislation… we cant do this or that and cameras all over the place…
Im sure one day we will all ask why did we give up so much of our freedom?
Having said that.. on this particular one I might have to admit its not a bad idea.
Actually I have been into a few pubs lately that have a Costa Coffee franchise within the pub… is that just a Yorkshire thing?
1 December, 2011 at 2:17 pm #483976Hate drink drivers  Especially the 1s that have had to much to drink the night before then think there ok to drive followin day   U wanna drive simple DO NOT DRINK!!

Surely the government shud not have to say about what ppl drink? but the common sense of ppl that drink shud know not to drive when they have had a drink ?
