If you’re booking flights abroad, ask to see the flight path, ffs!! If you want to arrive safe from a missile attack, that is.
Malaysian Airlines is one of many – Virgin, Lufthansa, Air France etc etc – cutting costs by ignoring the World Aviation authority’s warnings not to fly over a war zone where the government is bombing cities and the opposition are shooting down planes.
They’ve all diverted their aircraft now, but at what awful cost!
More and more civilians are being killed in that war where both sides are now intent on kill as their policy – UN, impose a ceasefire and Russia/USA enforce a diplomatic solution (haha – I know it’s unlikely)
19 July, 2014 at 8:48 am #523209That will be the only solution though….not flying over their airspace. No one is going to go to war with any of the Eastern block. We only go to war with pussies…not big boys. We will hear about hitting their pockets..but that will only be as bad as the softest affect it will have for us.
By the way which way do Virgin fly when going to Vegas?? :?19 July, 2014 at 1:00 pm #523210@kent f OBE wrote:

21 July, 2014 at 11:46 am #523211Israel kills and injures hundreds of civilians, including large numbers of children, in what the UN chief calls an atrocity, and the US regrets casualties on both sides (13 Israeli military dead).
Russia is about to be declared a pariah-state, as civilians in Donetsk and other cities are bombed by the Ukrainian air force
hypocrisy or what??
21 July, 2014 at 4:47 pm #523212Hamas fires rockets from schools and nurseries, cowards or what
22 July, 2014 at 5:16 am #523213the rockets kill hardly anybody – Israel has the most sophisticated defence machinery in the world..
I don’t like Hamas, but are you saying it’s all right to attack schools and hospitals, Trapper???? We’re talking about hits on intensive care units (which happened yesterday), the mass killing of children, and the destruction of entire families. That ok in your book, Trapper, to wipe out ‘dirty Arabs’ and ‘ragheads’, but a crime to disturb the night for good white Israeli settlers and soldiers?
The only people who win from Israel’s atrocities are radical Islam – British and French policies of destroying the armies of Libya and Iraq have led to a major resurgence in killer groups like al quaeda and ISIS.
There are better ways.
Atrocity is a shocking policy – how can you support such a policy, Trapper???
22 July, 2014 at 9:36 am #523214In the end, trapper, it’s quite simple..
you kill someone’s children, they’re likely to want to kill yours. Simple.
In Ukraine, similarly, you bomb cities, they’re likely to shoot your planes down if they have the weaponry. You tell commercial airliners seeking to cut safety corners that it’s safe to fly over that area at 33,000 feet, then one of those planes might be shot out of the sky.
Simple.
Horror, total horror, but simple to follow, yes?

Response is simplified…an eye for an eye
The problem however lies before the response22 July, 2014 at 5:50 pm #523216@kent f OBE wrote:

a the massacres go back a long way (Deir Yassin, where over 100 men women and children were killed just before Israel was founded, spreading terror through the Palestinian community which fled homes mainly to settle in the overcrowded Gaza strip), but I spoke to one guy who in the Royal Navy evacuating British troops when Israel was founded and the Brits had to withdraw – he was appalled by what he saw of the callous humour shown by Israeli gunners as they shelled the heavily populated area of Haifa.. There have been horrific massacres since.
It’s up to the stronger state to show magnanimity – but fat chance of that with the present political mood in Israel ( the mood since the 1967 war, in fact), and especially with the USA now supporting Israel in what they call a ‘legitimate’ military operation. It’s all right to attack Libya and Iraq, causing untold casualties and virtually destroying the countries (and adding to the strength of radical Islam) but Russia is a ‘pariah’ state.
I don’t support Putin or radical Islam (far from it) but the callous hypocrisy of the West chills me.
by the pricking of my thumbs
something wicked this way comes22 July, 2014 at 8:03 pm #523217So Hamas fires rockets from schools and nurseries and Israel does nothing ? I’m guessing Hamas is gonna say yay we win and stop doing it ? Whats its actually up to is for parents to stop teaching their children to hate ffs I’m sure they can form their own opinions as they grow up.
Let the Arabs fire rockets from military enclosures if they’re so brave, whatever the outcome Israel is retaliating. Of course there are better ways but only if both sides want it. And the thirteen dead Israelis were just as important to their families as the hundreds of Arabs were to theirs. Hamas would use deadlier weapons and cause much bigger casualty numbers if they could lay their hands on the weaponry.
It’s not a conflict either side can win
