Is there a program out there that will safetly search and delete files that have been left behind after using the add/remove feature of windows, I have noticed in my registry that there are references to files that I have long removed, I have used regsrubxp but it will not get rid of these files, and I don’t want to mess with the registry as I don’t know enough to do it with out messing something up.

All your needs are in ‘Technical Talk’ in the ‘Useful Downloads’ thread!

    EasyCleaner

EasyCleaner is a small program which searches Windows’ registry for
entries that are pointing nowhere. EasyCleaner also lets you delete all
kinds of unnecessary files like temps, backups etc. You can search for
duplicate files and you can view some interesting info about your disk
space usage! You are also able to manage startup programs, invalid
    shortcuts and add/remove software list.

I wouldn’t recommend deleting duplicate files unless you know what
    you’re doing!

Owen I usually find that by downloading certain products from the download help on this site I end up with more than one of the same product that does exactally the same as the last one therefore filling my drive up, I know of many sites that will give u some thing for free only to find it on another site under a different name, thats why I ask, can easy cleaner clear my registry of obselete entries, and also I am looking for a cleaner that will completey scrub entries or files so they have been like shredded and unreadable. thanx mate.
