Been reading a piece in one of my favourite monthly magazines Top Santé.,….the article is about acts of kindnes
1. Visit an elderly neighbour…
I think most of us probably have done lots of things for elderly nieghbours2. Baking for charity…
I have never baked
Just not my thing….wouldnt be fair to inflict my baking on anyone…let alone for people
to pay for it3. Give Blood…
Again….I think lots of us give blood….this really is an amazing thing that anyone can do4. Give A Surprise Gift…
I love this one……the example given is maybe there is someone in your local café who
always serves you with a lovely smile..
Give them an envelope with a handwritten message inside and perhaps a lottery ticket!5. Buy A Homeless Person Lunch…
Never bought anyone lunch but have thrown change into their tins…again like lots have
Buying lunch or giving food is a good idea…I do remember once wanting to buy a
charity worker collecting money on a freezing day a coffee….looked around and there
was no where close by to buy it!6. Become A Stealth Giver….
This one……de-ice a neighbours car….give away possesions to your local free recycle
network….when you’re paying for your parking ticket….leave money in the machine for
the next person for their parking….I think if you left money in the machine the next
person wouldn’t think it was an act of kindness but would think how lucky were they
because some sucker left his money in the machine :lol:Actually there was a program on the tele the other day…about an American guy…very rich…who loves giving away his money….he puts $100 dollar bills in places then leaves clues on Twitter to where people can find the money….he then sits close by and watches the smiles on peoples faces as they find the money….the episode I saw was on a beach….
One of the women who found the money..he went over to her and asked her about her find….she told him…she was overdrawn in the bank due to bills that month and was suppose to go grocery shopping a few days earlier but couldn’t and subsequently had not eaten properly for 2 days….she was elated with the find and said that she would be able to buy food….and that is why the American guy did what he did…..he knew that some of the finds would make differences to peoples lives….be it short termWhy am I doing this thread? No idea…..but it is nice to give…..
Has anyone done anything here they would like to share? Sometimes the smallest of things can mean so much to another person30 October, 2015 at 12:10 pm #529367I sold my house and gave away all my books in order to give money to Kids Company.
This is such a deserving charity, providing aid to the poorest children of London, and I strongly advocate that all jc memebers follow my act of kindness.
I also stop on the pavement to allow women to pass me by, and don’t jostle male pedestrians as I pass them.
30 October, 2015 at 1:34 pm #529368you only stop and let women pass by so you can look at their arses
i know your game fella. =P~30 October, 2015 at 7:01 pm #529369No, cosy…
I am a parfait Christian gentle mann…
I never think such nasty things, nor do I try to look at “the devil’s windows”, and if you had lived in the Middle Ages when I gre up, you’d know what I meant
If I ever have filthy, ‘orrible thoughts come to my mind, my act of kindness to women is not to let on…though this can be a tad frustrating :(

30 October, 2015 at 8:42 pm #529371apologies for being a decent person
30 October, 2015 at 11:05 pm #529372some of the posts are pretty ugly on these boards, laine, especially about some of the most vulnerable people, the refugees.
I have to admit taking the mickey about the kid’s company, as anyone who’s been reading the news would tell.
I’m not the kindest of people, though I try not to be unkind. I do my tiny bit.

i cant give blood anymore, but my son in law gives platelets, for cancer patients, im also on the anthony nolan trust register. i love to give, i love to help people smile, kindness costs nothing.
ive no doubt this will attract more abuseFor someone who seems slightly concerned about getting abuse, you seem to be giving your own trumpet a mighty blow.
