from reading some of the threads etc… and chatting with people I know, Im amaZed at people sayin they can’t cook…. it certainly baffles me… as its the easyiest thing to do… the secret of cooking is TIMING things….
Im terrible for being in a que at the supermarket and watching what people buy…!! it amaZes me… all processed foods, ready made meals etc… u can rustle up anything apart fae a roast in under 20 mins…!
mince n tatties take 25 mins fae start to end…. and its amaZin what ya can do with mince… ( mind only lean steak mince lol )
so 1st thing ya do is peel ur tatties ( potatoes ) and a few carrots ( if ya like )… put the tatties on to boil… whilest doin that put the mince into a pan to brown…. and drain the excess fat.. ( easy way fire into a sieve and pour over boilin water ) then place back into pan, add a chopped onion, oxo cube… the carrots ( chop them up ) put in pint of water and simmer away…. ur tatties will be ready in 15-20 mins… by this time all ya need to do is thicken the mince ( with gravy granules ) fire it all on a plate…
now with the leftovers… put in the freezer n mark for another day…!!
don’t forget the HP…..

Don’t tell me it’s easy to boil an egg! I have spent many years trying to perfect a soft boiled egg. Do you put it straight into cold water, then bring to the boil and time it? Do you drop it into boiling water then start your timer? The problem with eggs is that you can’t see what’s happening on the inside. (a bit like my stomach when talking to lovely ladies, Thank God!)

I always just guess observer and I’m a good cook, if I do say so myself :lol: , so the correct timing would be good to know

If I had known Big Brother was a cookery programme, I would have watch it from the start! I usually watch AWT on Saturday mornings. There are often some tempting delights on there to salivate over, and that’s just his guests.
I am sure MaryJ will enlighten us, as she seems to know everything about everything. She is our very own Domestos Goddess

rite Ob’s…. eggs in the cold water… make sure u cover them with water…. and once the water starts to simmer.,…. IE…. bubbles comin up…. time from then 3/4 mins…. dependin how soft u wish them…..
anyways im sure ur takin the effin pi’ss with Domestos…??? lol thats a bleach eh….

1. Throw all ingredients in a pot
2. Stick said pot in oven or on the hob
3. Await smoke alarm siren
4. Rush too the kitchen with a great big smile on yer face in the knowledge that yer dinner is well and truly cooked and you won’t be getting any kinda poisoning from raw food.Has worked for me since i left my parents house, and i’m still alive and well.

Does depend on what altitude you are at though … the size of the egg, and how cold it is to begin with :wink: :P
