The only safe vehicle has no doors.
25 January, 2009 at 3:29 pm #389496If road accidents happen at lower speed the consequences are normally less serious. You can’t equate a car park bump to high-speed loss of control on a bend.
What I was getting at though …. is that there are more low speed accidents and shunts occur than high speed ones. High speed ones are obviously more destructive but are in the minority in the scheme of things. On the railways, we have locos drop on the floor, wagons rolling foul of other roads in yards, locos skidding on wet rails, coal scatter onto cars at level crossings, couplings break …… etc …. all low speed and none of it sells papers. It’s all about sensationalism … if no one dies, it doesn’t seem to count.

26 January, 2009 at 7:30 pm #389502No.
What is the hidden power possessed by slow drivers. Dithery drivers of any age who – you can spot crawling the motorway hill, sandwiched in a line of lorries on a motorway, causing swathes of tonnage to shift sideways into the path of higher vehicle use.
Madness. I mean when someones speed is way inferior to that of the general driving population. These people even Stop before they runyouover. Quite frankly, hanging’s too good for them. But no, they never get blames for accidents do they ? Like tortoises with secret smiles.
Was it the sequel to driving miss daisy mims ??
26 January, 2009 at 7:39 pm #389503No.
It is a British made film, about a train driver who had had two people kill themselves under his train in a month.
Was a very funny and very good film and had whatsis face from the Office in it. Erm…… Mackenzie Crook? The guy with the face that droops and the dark rings under his eyes.
As far as slow drivers on motorways are concerned. We have brakes. Provided you concentrate, a lorry pulling out in front of you to overtake a slightly slower lorry shouldn’t be a problem. Just KEEP YOUR DISTANCE…. which most women do, but a lot of men get too close and try and push the car in front of them off the road. You can’t make the car in front go any faster by driving up its behind guys!!!!
:D
