Sorry Tinks forgot to answer this…. no its where coal was mined until Mrs Thatcher and Mr Scargill decided to have a war over it…. to be honest though even when the mines were open the place was awful….. no idea why its so depressing even people who live there agree its a miserable place.

I used to work as a PA for a multi-millionaire who tried to save the coal mines – he lost 7m, but he did save the Manchester Canal – that is my claim to fame! :D
