13 June, 2007 at 3:19 pm #273297Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her “beauty tips.” It was read at her funeral years later.
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness…
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone… People,
even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed,
and redeemed; never throw out anyone.Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.
I’m certain this will be ridiculed by somebody (I wonder who  ), but I think Cath will appreciate it. Happy Birthday!

Growing Old GracefullyThere’s a mole on my neck that’s growing a hair
When I was younger it wasn’t there
A lot of things changed since I’ve grown older
like my fallen arches and this hump on my shoulderYesterday I noticed a twitch in one eye
and spots on my hand that resemble a fly
I used to be able to party all night
but now to stay awake until five is a fightMy breasts used to be firm and quite pert
Now I have to be careful they don’t drag in the dirt
Gravity surely has taken its toll
What was once on the surface is now in a holeThe backs of my arms are wobbly like jelly
and I found the remote tucked under my belly
I used to eat steak but now I can’t chew it
Growing old gracefully. I don’t think I can do itDonna Vickodil
awwwwwwww doa , I had no idea you were in such a bad way hunnie, now i’ve read this i will be gentle with you in future……….although i could give you the name of a good vet who would put u down painlessly…….
The poem made me smile. :D
The reply made me laugh.
Happy Birthday Cath. You’ve aged just 1 year…. but the way you carry yourself on these boards has matured 10 fold…… :D x X x X x
So when you say she has matured 10 fold, basically your saying she has aged 10 years. I think the wrinkles give it away
