my youngest is going to footy trials on Saturday for the league rep side, if he gets through it will mean lots of travelling, but Im quietly excited!
Im trying not to show it infront of him, as I dont want him to treat it too seriously, and certainly dont want him getting his confidence knocked if he doesnt get picked, but fingers tightly crossed!
29 September, 2008 at 9:13 pm #376479Awww I hope he gets through even though I dislike footy with a passion. :D
29 September, 2008 at 9:20 pm #376480lol sian thanks x
even if he doesnt, the experience of the trials will be good for him.
He has a rugby match thursday and he will probably get injured (like normal), so thats a bit of a worry…. but he loves that too, so its a catch 22 situation.

Rugby is more passionate than football? :?
You’re having a laugh stan.Hey shaz I hope he gets in the team.
You never know, one day he might make the big time.30 September, 2008 at 9:44 pm #376485well… just got home from watching Harlow Town win in their FA cup replay against St Albans, and Billy’s manager phoned… he said he thought Billy was the only kid ready for the toughness of the trials so thats why he put him forward. He was asked last year and he refused as none of the kids were ready. He has put two more kids forward also, but he isnt sure if they will get anywhere, but they are all part of their team so I hope they do.
They are going to be up against some really big really tough kids from inner London who’s upbringing makes them much tougher players than our lot, so it will be a hard day, but you never know.
Im so excited.
But trying my damndest not to show it!
30 September, 2008 at 10:38 pm #376486wish my kid wud make his mind up shaz…..he loves sport….he stays after school every day an weekends.so far hes in the rugby team.footy team.hockey team.cross country team………and now basketball!!!!…………a couch potato like me he deffo aint!
30 September, 2008 at 10:42 pm #376487lol, billy has just started the basket ball too, he’s the same Pats. Every night its something, either footy, rugger, netball (coughs), basket ball, trampolining. Oh and hockey!
Id rather him be doing it than anything else though, at least it keeps em active and fit, and I find it takes a lot of his energy too, and makes him less ratty if he’s been doing all his sports.
