The second post-mortem performed on Ian Thompson the guy who died in the G20 demos after being assaulted by the police has shown he died of internal abdominal bleeding and not a heart attack as first thought.
17 April, 2009 at 4:03 pm #395450pardon me his name was Ian Thomlinson.

Thomlinson had his hands in his pockets not the police
18 April, 2009 at 5:53 pm #395453“Witnesses described him as ‘dazed’ and ‘stumbling’ walking along the road before he collapsed.” (the last line of the UTube video clip).
According to one press report, he was a chronic alcoholic and was in fact thoroughly pissed when he had his several confrontations with the Police.
His ‘family’ are up in arms about their ‘loss’ when in fact he has been living rough on the streets for several years and currently temporarily resided in a hostel in the Charing Cross Road. It appears that they had totally disowned him and had’t seen him for years.
No doubt they will now want to claim the usual enormous amount of compensation from all of us – sorry, from the Metropolitan Police.
18 April, 2009 at 5:58 pm #395454It is wrong for the Rat Pack to publish this video recording. If this comes to court and maybe it will, then the majority of the public will have seen it, along with some who will be picked for the jury.
18 April, 2009 at 10:50 pm #395455I couldn’t agree more. The entire press handling of this matter has been grossly prejudicial to put it mildly.
The plain fact is that the Police were placed in an impossible position.
If they stood back and allowed the ‘protestors’ (and their anarchist mates) to do their thing by criminally damaging buildings; assaulting city workers; threatening and intimidating members of the public; and so on …. they would have been flayed alive by the media for inaction; failure to do their jobs and so on.
Police chose to clamp down on the ‘protestors’ and corralled them into an area where they could NOT run riot and rampage around setting fire to cars & buildings (as they usually and inevitably do in these ‘protests’) ….. and so they become the focus for everybody with an axe to grind to submit complaints and allegations to the PCA.
Interesting how the female on the news this-evening, who made a formal complaint to the PCA, first sold her story to the tabloids. Once the fee had been agreed …. THEN she made her PCA complaint.
This stuff is the same old “bash the Bill” story that we hear year in and year out every time the lefty lunatics take to the streets for a fun day out.
18 April, 2009 at 11:05 pm #395456no prizes for guessing who’s her publisher — Max Clifford
19 April, 2009 at 10:04 am #395457Yup I’d say that this is a safe bet. Uncle Max sure has a way of manipulating the taboid press on behalf of his clients to gain them maximum advantage eh?
