a new note

as I sit at work, counting paperclips, making hats out of paper and drinking endless cups of tea, thought to myself this is as good a time as any to write a new note.

Christmas has come and gone very quietly it seemed compared to recent years, maybe because I now live on my own and the TV isn’t always on, or I’ve worked this year away from the hussle and bussle and the panic that is Xmas shopping

New year is tonight however, Organising an event these days is hard work and often it leads to being let down or disappointed, so this year I’ve left it for someone to contact me. They did, all be it last night with 2 days to go, a house party in Manchester, being us however and who we know (or don’t know) the chances of it being over crowded are slim, however the chances of us getting fed up and heading to a night club, paying £15 to get in, is very high.. £15 for a new year snog? is it worth it? perhaps not, not the girls I end up snogging anyway

the year has come and gone, the summery of it has been a positive one. I’ve bought my own place, met new friends, re kindled old relationships too, I have discovered poker nights at the Volt in Buxton, even done a bit of DIY.. all be it just varnishing a shelf, which my dad put up for me, its a start

next year I do plan to improve my job, be it where I am with more money, or somewhere else, the problem being its hard to find somewhere new that will have the same earning potential as It does here, with the over time and Saturday work, no harm in looking however, I could sacrifice money for the social factor of getting a new job

I shall also join the gym again, attempt to get fit, which will have side effects such as less money but more confidence and will give me that feel good factor to enable me to maybe meet more people, who knows a girlfriend for 2008?

Holiday is high on my list too, be it to America to see my brother, or somewhere in Europe like Germany to witness a different culture then your average British public holiday (tenerife)

who knows what the year will bring, no doubt it will have its highs and its lows, disappointments and successes, what ever happens, come new year eve 2009 we will all have another story to tell
