My first reaction to this was “wonderful” as i think the concept really was and it was so well put together :)

Unfortunately, even in the world of chatland there are consequences that reverberate into the world or RealLife.

The anti hero of this tale seems to live permanently in a fairytale world where he is King. A King who is a cross between Vito Corleone and David Beckhams lunch box.

This continuing existence in the land of fairy stories take no heed of the pain that can be caused to the unwary hearts of good people who dwell in the lands of Decency and Goodness and are not used to the Wicked Kings of Chatland Fairyworld.

The two conspiritors in this Chatland Fairytale took no notice of the pain caused to the person conspired against and dragged unwittingly into their dark world. The lady in question , and she truly is a Lady and the only real Lady involved in this fairytale, has not come out of it unscathed our heart whole.

One hopes that in future the King and Qeen of the Dark Side of Chatland Fairyworld will take their fairy tlales elsewhere and not involve the the good pple who dwell in the lands fof Goodness and Decency..

Well I know who the King of the Dark Side of Chatland is, but who is the Queen? :-k

Disney has a lot to answer for, they sanitised fairytales and made us believe that there was always a “and they all lived happily ever after” ending, but anyone who has read the original fairytales of the Brothers Grimm will know that this is rarely the case. :(

The Queen apparantly drinks martinis . The other involved is the only real Lady in this tale.

And so we revisit Chatland, and lo, what do we find but unrest amongst some of its good citizens.

The thing about fairytales is that things are not always as they seem. If you simply look at the outer wrapping then you could be forgiven for seeing a picture of sweetness and light, but take away that bright colourful wrapping and the colour is gone and all is a murky grey beneath.

Our anti-hero for instance, he’s so misunderstood, or is it underestimated? Some of the citizens of Chatland have dismissed him as not the brightest bulb in the box, others have seen him to be a Jekyll and Hyde character. In our recent fairytale he seemed to be the hapless victim of a tease, a wind-up, with so much gnashing of teeth and false pride. But is all as it seems? Has the Chatland fairytale spilled into real life or vice versa? Is he a victim or a perpetrator? Are there really as many vices as he would like us to think? Is he really a pussycat as his girlfriend would like us to believe? Or maybe a rat?

And what of his girlfriend? She seemed to be so sweet, so cheerful, like a bouncy puppy who wanted to keep everyone happy and to fit in. She’d only been here a few days and was making friends with the strong women of Chatland and making plans to meet them in that mysterious place called RealLife. And after the RealLife meet everyone said how lovely she was…a little too good to be true maybe? Maybe if we took a look back at her first few posts then examined more closely how her character unfolded, it might shed a little light. So…is she the wronged girlfriend? Or the girlfriend that did wrong? Or both?

Let’s not forget her co-conspirator in the alleged tease aka wind-up. Everyone knows his love of jolly japes, but did someone turn the tables on him? Have we witnessed a double-tease? Or did he knowingly go along with it for the fun of it? Who was the fish, who was the maggot and who held the hook?

But this is Chatland, and let’s just remind ourselves that, as many would have us believe, these are just words on a screen and they can’t hurt anybody. Of course we know that’s not true, words have power, if they didn’t there wouldn’t be so many great works of poetry and literature, or even words of a song, that can touch our hearts and souls and even move us to tears. Not that we should consider the words that float around in Chatland to be equal to the classics of literature of course, but neither should we totally dismiss their power. Don’t forget though, that this fairytale ventured out of Chatland and into RealLife, so maybe it’s time to look at our two strong ladies. One, a lovely Lady, with such grace and dignity, far be it for her to be throwing mudballs around in Chatland even though she has far more right to than anyone else here right now. They say once bitten twice shy, and yes the wise are more careful around the dog that bites, but anyone can be fooled by that dog’s puppy. The Lady is the victim in all of this and no doubt she hurts and doesn’t feel so strong right now, but she will recover with the support of her friends who will fight her corner for her. And the other strong woman, a loyal friend to our lovely Lady, who shoots from the hip and takes no prisoners. I wouldn’t want to cross her, would you?

Will there be another chapter in this Chatland fairytale that owes more to the Brothers Grimm than to Disney? Well one thing is for sure, this fairytale has more twists and turns than a restless trouser snake. Let me just close the curtains on this chapter and I’ll consult my crystal ball.

Please note: any resemblance to people from the past, present or time travellers from the future may or may not be intended but the author wishes it to be known that the fairytale was drawn from the author’s own observations and is not based in fact, The fairytale was written with the author’s tongue firmly in her cheek and no malice is intended. :D
