No, the anarchist-communists are not communist.

    Okay then.

I have to admit, I personally don’t believe “our” version of democracy works, in another world and another place I would happily have been an anarchist communist. Whatever that means.

Democracy is the ultimate form of satisfaction. If people are satisfied with their childhoods and past, they feel no reason to have more power on anyone but themselves. They see words as amazing in communicating anything, regardless of what it is that they want to tell people. People feel optimistic that people care about what they think, and that their rights won’t be mishandled. It frees up time to create enjoyment that other people can buy and to earn money that they can enjoy with loved ones. It creates trust and that in turn makes people trustworthy. Personally I think in every world I would prefer democracy and trustful freedoms that my liberal judgments align with, truth be told.

Nah loads of people encounter online bullying on a daily basis & no one takes a blind bit of notice the perpretrators get away with it.

Dear me if anyone is being bullied all they have to do is mention it to a Minister or Chief Constable while enjoying some fine wine and nibbles, sorted. ;-)

The guys who threatened murder and rape sure picked on the wrong woman.

She had initiated what was proving to be one of the most important cases of constitutional law for a long time. That meant she had the judges and (reluctantly) the govt on her side. Threats to rape and murder became threats to subvert the operation of the law at the highest levels.

But, as arc said, most of us poor sods don’t get the attention. Threats to murder and rape are a lot less common than online bullying, but they can be a lot more frightening. Stalking is very scary to women (and to some men) but it took a long long time for that to be legally recognised.

My reply was tongue in cheek, I was agreeing with Arc.

I couldn’t give a shyte if the law they were attempting to subvert was at Magistrate level or Supreme court level. The threatening of witnesses involved in court cases goes on daily, I wonder how many of them get the help of a minister – old pals act springs to mind.

    Heroine my arse.

Oh, and I’ve seen them plenty of times in chatrooms and I didn’t see any Ministers come galloping along on a great white steed.

    ahem, Reason.

Ministers didn’t exactly want to defend this heroine. When the Daily Mail launched an abusive attack on Court Judges, the Justice (?) Secretary said nothing until she was reminded that she had a certain job to do, no matter what her political opinions were.

It’s just that the case was unusually important – it could be the most important one since the 17th century. Threats to rape and murder look kinda bad in a case like that. The Establishment can’t ignore them.

‘Shame’ for the a-holes doing the threatening, though.

otherwise, I totally agree with your view that for most people, these threats don’t get the attention. In fact, I think that’s what I actually said, agreeing with arc. Stalking is a very scary thing for women, but the cops take a while before they pay attention.

Ahem, scep, you were trying to make out that the rape and murder threats made this an exceptional case, threats like them online aren’t at all rare.

Oh btw, I was on a jury years ago and one of the jurors on the same case as me was approached by someone outside the courts. When we went back into court the judge told us from then on to make sure we travelled to and from the courts in pairs, ffs it would have been like a BOGOF for anyone wanting to threaten us, your mate Gina would have wanted an escort from the SAS.

She isnt heroic she wanted to subvert the will of the people and had the money and station to do so

    #1021380

will of the people my bum lol

what made this an exceptional case was the constitutional significance of defining the powers of executive privilege. Threats of rape or murder, threats to stalk online bullying are all unacceptable.

Despite these, she went all the way and won.

Jo Cox was a VIP too. Didn’t protect her. Her brutal killing has made a lot of people nervous.

    Not our Gina Good gal!
