The Brexit vote in the House of Commons was a tragic inevitablitly,

    but one heroine emerges.

    Gina Miller.

Against all the odds, and at her own expense, this philapnthropist fought for our rights against the executive dictaroship of pushing Brexit through without parliamentary discussion and consent.

She says she did not expect to win, and she has been subjected to abuse, including serious   threats of rape and murder. It became so dangerous that the police had to be called in, and a minster had to warn against the thugs who were throwing this abuse at her.

She stuck to her guns and won. The ruling has clarified the Constitution of this country, even if it didn’t stop the tragic process of Brexit – that may yet come to a halt, but not because of this brave woman.

Yes, she was threatened with rape by thugs.

Yes, she was threatened with murder by thugs.

Yes she went ahead with her own money to fight the case, when she didn’t think she would win.

Yes, she won her case confirming in British constitutional law that executive dictatorship is illegal, and that the Crown exists in Parliament. At a level with John Pym and John Hampden.

No she did not stop Brexit. Anybody could have told you that. Brexit can only be stopped, or reversed, by the people. My hope is that it will happen

but whether it does or not, this woman deserves a place n history

Tragic ? That’s just a matter of opinion, and thanks for yours. It seems the country as a whole and the Government hold quite the opposite view.

The thread is about a brave woman who stood out against thugs and abuse.

Tapioca, so what? Minorities are allowed to hold views aren’t they? So far in our Chump post-truth world anyway.

But the fact that the majority holds your view, Tapioca, is not necessarily permanent. Majority views are rarely majorities for long.

If everything turns out hunky-dory, then I’ll be holding your view (to an extent).

But  if it doesn’t, if things go badly wrong, then we’re going to be faced with rather an unpleasant choice. Fortunately paths are open for going back in.

Reason, we are living in the same world, I’m afraid, and it’s a world which is moving towards trade wars and currency wars, as in the 1930s when beggar-my-neighbour policies prevailed. Britain isn’t a powerful as it was in the 1930s, but there be sharks in the world market. I would trust Chump (America First, Only America) to provide protection, personally.

So sorry, rudeboy, we’re still living in a world where people opposed to you are allowed to have their views and express them. As yet.

Yes I think we all get that, and all credit to her, it’s a shame that you otherwise blight her limelight by tarring your own minority political persuasions to this thread. If you wish to taint the thread with your political ideals, then so can everyone else, right?

But the fact that the majority holds your view, Tapioca, is not necessarily permanent.

Correct. Equally, it’s not necessarily temporary either.

    But

    If

    But if

    if

You can’t run the world on “if’s” and “butts”

She’s not brave and she’s no heroine of mine, I’ll save those titles for someone deserving of them. What did the silly cow expect by delaying brexit. Now that the unions are almost dead the only real say that the public have in how things are done is elections and referendums and this woman took it upon herself to foook about with and delay the will of the people ……. she doesn’t live in “my world”(thank foook) and neither do you if you class her as a heroine.
