You are right Terry, There is only one race, the human race. I’ve never said otherwise, and I’m glad to see your agreement.

What you think my prejudices are I don’t know, in my last comment I actually spoke of f_pol’s and anyone else’s right to voice an opinion different from my own. I also said I would not try to silence them, which I haven’t.

In fact it seems that f_pol and I agree about racism being wrong, we mainly seem to disagree on whether those who experience racism should discuss it openly. I respect her right to her opinion as much as I respect my right to mine.

The fact (as you and I both see it) that there is only one race, makes those who differentiate, and regard people negatively because of the colour of their skin or any other inherited characteristic not just wrong in the detail, but the basis of their suppositions.

That’s why it is difficult for people to respond, it is far easier to respond constructively to someone whose actions are based on something logical and factual but racism is basically ridiculous. I believe f_pol and I agree on that.

That she has made good points I have not denied. I don’t see the discussion in quite the polarised way that you describe it, in fact I have criticised the PC approach to these subjects myself.

I’m disappointed, but not surprised, that you resort once again to insult. Coming from anyone else I would have wondered if the comment was based on a preconception rather than on anything I have said, but that would make you prejudiced, wouldn’t it? – perish the thought!

Not much chance of enjoying the debate if it’s always going to be polarised on the basis of ‘PC victim’ vs ‘sensible mustn’t talk about it’.

I guess it doesn’t matter any more.
