This is new.
Three years ago, people wanted that leaving the EU would end in a serious decline in living standards. Some – George Osborne, if anyone remembers him – said there would be a catastrophe, but that was part of the lying hype whihc characterised that evil referendum campaign.
The economy has worsened since the referendum, and we haven’t even left yet.
But this is new. This is the worst, most hazardous kind of Brexit. There may well be a catastrophe, and certainly a shock. it’s done against the wishes of most people, and national unity is demanded from a deeply divided country. We will suffer, but the ones who suffer most are the poorest and the unemployed.

19 August, 2019 at 9:08 am #1123458have some faith in our wonderful nation 👍
When you burn your house down in the hope that there’s going to be a lovely dream house on the hill which is going to land in your virtuous lap, do you tell the people living in the house to have faith in their wonderful selves?
What madness is that?
You don’t move house until you’ve actually bought the new one.
You don’t burn down the house you’re living in when there’s nowhere else to go.
What in flaming hell are you trying to sell us?!
19 August, 2019 at 9:17 am #1123460Latest polls show 60 percent of the UK voting population is now for remain. Just why is Brexit still being forced through?
Who sets to benefit from it? Boris and his global pals that is who. The likes of GEraldine are too caught up in “winning”, to even consider asking these questions.
19 August, 2019 at 9:40 am #1123462Thin is a complete and utter simpleton. No doubt another coffin dodger, like most Brexiteers, still living in eighteen-ninety something or other, when you could go t’shops and leave your door unlocked, every little cottage had a fine patch of scrubland out’back, and all nations had sovereignty and their own little flag. Oh and Britain did once rule the world. Yes Chitty Chitty Bang has a lot answer for.
Sadly times change. In the global world of 2019 sovereignty means sod all, and the harsh truth that the likes of Thin and GEraldine refuse to accept is that tiny islands like the UK, MUST align with some club!
Personally I would rather that alliance was with our real cousins, our neighbours on our doorstep @ Europe, rather than the United States of Nazis

19 August, 2019 at 10:36 am #1123466The Wigan pie muncher is merely reguritating, word for word, what the resident Remain drone has churned out over the past three years, all googled of course, because just like him she is ignorant. There is nothing original in anything she types just like there is nothing original in anything he types.
The Wigan pie muncher is quite simply politically illiterate. The tory so called ‘left’, the labour so called ‘right’ and the Lib Dems, all “progressive centrists”, might as well be the same political party because their political ideology is more or less the same with a few tweaks here or there.
I keep stating it, but neither of them can provide a technical argument why we should remain in the EU and neither of them ever have. It’s all scare stories and “doff your caps” to your betters etc. Bullshit, especially coming from that pair.
You just can’t have a grown up debate with people who lie, misquote and post fake facts.
I agree with Moose actually, this isn’t about leaving the EU anymore, it’s about who can SHOUT the loudest and has been for years.
We will see what the coming months bring.
One thing though is certain, without a never ending supply of cheap labor the EU ponzi scheme is ultimately doomed to fail.
19 August, 2019 at 10:45 am #1123468The economy has worsened since the referendum, and we haven’t even left yet.
This is exactly the type of bullshit they churn out. The global banking crash in 2008/9 caused the downturn in the British economy and the subsequent EU flag waving Lib Dems ideological austerity slowed growth in the aftermath, fuck all to do with the referendum and a completely separate issue.
Politically and economically illiterate.

Perhaps “simpleton” was a tad harsh. But I find it interesting that you plan to live in Spain on retiring, I too hoped to do this @ SOOOO easily @ being in the EU. Surely with your plans Thin, you of all poeple can see that remaining in the EU would make it easier to live in Spain and remain there.
Also the irony is inescapable. You voted to leave the EU just so you can BREXIT the UK, and REMAIN in Spain, (0000 that rhymed! ). I see a tongue twister in there.
The Remainers in Spain mainly voted Brexit
Ok it does not have the same ring to it as
The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain
But you get my drift.
What is galling though is that you Thin, say you have worked “hard” and now plan to retire to the sun. You imply that all others should “work hard” also . Brexit in any form, certainly a no deal one, denies many Millenials, this very opportunity@ WORK!

Untill we have no deal we won’t be able to get a deal
once the French,German and Spain’s industrialists start finding it hard to sell their wares here then they will enforce their own governments to play ball
the ports will get blocked
the other side of the channel
cars stock piled in germany
wine cheese and building materials in france
the Spanish ports will be stocked with rotten salad
non of those countries can afford not to sell here
19 August, 2019 at 12:24 pm #1123474Very simple here opinion.. NO MATTER where we all live we all get these impacts on our economy, if it be food, clothing, jobs, funds. We all in some form need each other for basic survival needs. What effects us does you, what effects you does us. What effects you with your neighboring Country, effects them with there neighboring country. So forth..
I dont see our people however moving out of the Country. However many when retire, save money, retire to another affordable state as cost of living becomes way expensive where presently live.
